Dear engineer of babies,

While I realize that babies in & of themselves are a miraculous and amazing thing, I have but one small request/suggestion...

Could we instill the blowing of the nose as a reflex similar to sucking?  Something they're born with?

I think that would be wonderful and would lessen the pink-eye that is inevitable when a toddler is at the age where they have learned how to wipe (aka - spread) snot with their sleeve, but not yet at the age where they can actually BLOW it into a tissue.

TYVM.

Re: Dear engineer of babies,

  • I am soooooo lucky to have a 2 year old who learned how to blow. This snot sucking the baby is for the birds.

  • I wish. James has been crusty and snotty since before Christmas. I am SO over it. His nose is raw and red from being wiped 3,000 times a day, I keep demonstrating the blowing thing, but he doesn't get it. ?He just sucks in and then makes it worse.
