Write this down in your pregnancy journals . . .

pregnancy + watching "the notebook" = EMOTIONAL DISASTER!!!

WHAAAAAAT the heck was I thinking??!! I've seen it, I know how sad it is, but against my better judgement, I  stayed up and watched it last night because I couldn't sleep. I cried the entire way through & then was bawling for at least 15 minutes AFTER it was over. I can't believe I didn't wake the rest of my house with my sobs. Avoid this at all costs!! haha!!

Re: Write this down in your pregnancy journals . . .

  • I can't watch this movie in general. No way could I watch it while pregnant! No movie has made me cry harder!
  • Yeah, I cried in Hallmark yesterday picking out a card for a friend's baby shower.

  • Too funny....just last night DH and I watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants for the first time.  I was sobbing...like I couldn't breathe, and was laughing at the same time.  The movie was over...I went to the bathroom...came back and he switched the channel to THE NOTEBOOK, more as a joke because he saw the condition I was already in.  We did NOT watch it, exactly for the reason you just explained...haha!
  • That is exactly why I refuse to see Marley & Me.  I've seen The Notebook and that would do me in, too!
  • Hopping over from 2nd tri to respond...I could be employed full time, talking about this movie.  THis is my favorite movie in the world and same as you, I hysterically cry everytime watching it.  Like, not just sobbing, but loud, uncontrollable, diasterous cries.  I have come across it on TV twice while being pregnant and cannot watch it because I can't even imagine what I would sound/look like.  As it is, when I watch it, I feel so emotionally drained for hours after it has ended.

With this being said however, it still is my all time favorite!

  • Same thing - except about the movie "ps I love you". I had seen it before prepregnancy, and loved it - then I tried to watch it again around my 6th month - and couldn't even get through the first scene - I was sobbing so much. My DH just laughed at me, and turned it off. I'll try again in a year or so.
  • I can tear up at anything, but Dh and I had a mild argument this morning and I just cried like a 5 year old about it for like an hour. the tears would not stop flowing! Dh said he was sorry like a million times I was like "its not me!!! I'm over it!"

  • I watched this yesterday too and I was a mess!  Even though i've seen it a dozen times, I still love that movie.

  • This is so funny because I've been finding myself crying or on the verge of crying during movies we've been watching that I've seen many times before with no real emotion attached to them in the past.  I always think to myself how weird it is!
  • I think this happens to me every time, pregnant or not!  I saw that it was on last night and I stayed the h*ll away from it :)

  • I cried at the end of Independence Day this morning. Yep.
  • Yeah I just went and saw "Marley and Me" with my mom this afternoon. I bawled ALOT!
  • Seriously!  Not a great idea :)  I caught the tail end of Juno last night and cried for 20 minutes.

  • Word to the wise, dont' go see marley& me... my bff went and saw this with me and she is NOT a dog person... and SHE was bawling her eyes out...
  • My husband and I went and saw Seven Pounds the day after my BFP and I think that with the emotions I had since I had just found out I was pregnant and the moving being so sad....I was bawling in the theather (Loudly I should add) and half an hour after we got home I was still crying.  It was pitiful!
