Lilly has been really sick the past 3 days. Now she's got this chronic fever that has been hanging around for 2 days along w/the cough and cold. I've been sleeping with her to help her thru the nights. She talks in her sleep normally...but now that she's been fighting this fever she wakes up routinely thru the night all upset and yelling out something new that seems to be bothering her. She is taking a nap now and just woke up crying blurting out "the pasta broke!". Last night it was "I don't want it!" and the other ones I remember from one of the nights is "Daddy ate the last muffin!" and "Stoli (our dog) where are you???"...these are all accompanied by crying and repetition. She won't really come to, but will just put her head back down and fall back asleep. She doesn't sleep soundly anyway (she's actually getting her adenoids and tonsils removed Feb 5th) but this is crazy...I wonder if the fever is making her hallucinate. Anyone else have a toddler that has gone thru a crazy dreaming phase?
Re: Does anyone have a child that does this???
How high is her fever?
Like your daughter I am not a good sleeper, I have all kinds of crazy dreams and talk in my sleep even when I am not sick. But if I run a fever, then I get the worst dreams. It seems to be the worst when my fever is above 100. Oh and I will add that I have been like this my whole life. My mom has stories of me being 2 or 3 and crying in my sleep durring a cold, screaming about her leaving. I hope your daughter out grows them. ((((((HUGS)))))
I hope your daughter's fever goes away soon! Poor baby!
Thanks Ariel!! YES, her temp has been ranging around 101 for two days now. I'll have to ask my inlaws if my husband was like this when he was sick. I don't think I was. Wow, I'm sorry you've had bad dreams when sick too! It doesn't seem like a pleasant way to fight a fever, that's for sure. I'm am glad there are others with the same type of experience though. I'm def. going to inquire with my pediatrician too. I wonder if it will subside after she gets her adenoids and tonsils removed. Thank you so much for your insight!!
