How much caffeine are y'all taking in daily? For those of you who have already been to your first Dr appointment, what did the Dr have to say regarding it? Thanks!!!
The Dr has told me that two cups of regular coffee per day would be fine. I personally never liked coffee much in the first place so it wasn't on my list of cheats but I do drink a diet pepsi each day with LOTS of ice. Yum.
I've been avoiding it. I did have a decaf latte today so I know there was a bit in there. And I haven't really been limiting my chocolate intake, so whatever I get from that. It's def. a lot less than I was used to a few months ago (either a redbull daily or two cups of coffee daily) and I'm comfortable with the tiny amount I'm consuming now. I can cut the coffee, and I don't drink caffeinated sodas anyway, but I don't think I can completely cut out the chocolate.
My Dr. said a cup a day of coffee would be fine, but I'm not drinking any. Partly because it's not worth the risk to me, and also because caffeine dehydrates. I'm working hard to get as much hydration as possible and don't want anything to hurt that. Also, coffee (even decaf) is acidic and not good on your stomach if you have m/s.
Depends on the day. I don't overly worry about it too much. Some days I'll have a couple of cups of hot chocolate or the yummy chocolate, or maybe a cup of coffee or two or maybe some coke or chai tea - generally not all on the same day:) Some days I have zero caffeine.
I was trying to have none as much as possible and I was A HUGGGGE Coffee drinker before. But I just figured after the1st Tri I will have a little. They say its ok. But why take the chance? Its only for a few months imo
I gave it all up (minus chocolate). No black tea (hot or cold), only decaf lattes/coffee, no caffinated sodas (and no diet sodas or fake sugar). i know I am being ultra conservative .... but I figured it is best for the baby and I can deal for a while. I have my first OB appt this Tuesday so shall see what she tells me is good to do vs not.

My doc said one or two caffeinated beverages a day was fine. I had totally cut it all together after being a Diet Dr. Pepper freak. That just so happened to be the same week my fatigue set in, so I have been doing one Diet Dr. Pepper a day and that's it. I drink hot tea sometimes, but I try to go with decaf if it's around.

It's not good to take more than 300g of caffeine a day. Remember that caffeine is in coffee, chocolate and tea. Personally, I have an aversion to coffee right now, so it works well for me b/c I think even 300g a day is too much.

My doc is cautious about everything, which I appreciate. He said no more than 1 cup of coffee each day. I've cut it all out except the occasional chai latte or piece of chocolate. At this point I don't miss it.
