I have my first dr appointment on 1/29, I will be 9 weeks then. I know every doc is different but what should I expect, just a regular exam or do you think I may get to see the HB? Just curious.
Mine was this week and pretty basic. We talked alot about my history, syptoms, and what I should not be eating or doing while pregnant. We talked about the type of testing I would get, when I would get ultrasounds, stuff like that. Did a Urine sample, Bloodwork and an internal & breast exam. That was about it. Sort of similar to my annual physical except with alot of pregnancy talk.

Call and ask if you'll be getting an u/s, each office is different so only they can tell you if that will happen. You can expect to PIAC, probably do bloodwork, or get sent somewhere for it, have your medical history recorded and get info on what to expect for the next few months.
My first will just be history, bloodwork, urine sample, pg talk, all with a nurse. If your doc didn't tell u what to expect, most offices will gladly tell you, just give them a call a few days ahead and ask!

Our first appointment was on Monday. I was at 7 weeks, 5 days. DH went with me to see the nurse midwife. We did a urine sample and blood samples, and she took a thorough family history. There was a lot of paperwork to sign. We were supposed to get a binder about Kaiser's prenatal services, but they had run out. The midwife did a physical, including a breast exam and a pelvic exam. Then she pulled in the ultrasound machine and we got to see the little heartbeat.
