Didn't pass out!

I just have to share this with someone and since this is my favorite board, I'm here.  I am deathly afraid of needles (full vasovagal (sp?) reflex, too) and it usually takes a few nurses and my husband to keep me calm enough to get my blood drawn and then I pass out.  I'm trying to work on this, so I went to the doc's today for the glucose 1-hour test and did the whole thing on my own without DH and with 2 nurses (1 for blood, 1 for distraction) and didn't cry or yell or pass out or anything.  They even had to trade arms in the middle cuz the first one wasn't working.  Yeah for relaxation exercises and Ipods!

Congrats! Man if I had that problem I'd be in real trouble. I have tricky veins and blood draws are never a fun time.

Good for you!! It's not fun to have all of this blood drawn, but I always make myself suck it up and remind myself it's for my daughter. Congrats on the progress you've made.

Nice work!!  When my mom was coming over from Ireland, they had to give her the small pox vaccine.  She saw my uncle get it and promptly passed out.  They gave her the shot while she was unconscious.  That cracks me up.

Wow, that's really great!  I have extreme fear of needles as well, and I know what a big deal that is!
