Went to the pedi this AM and forgot to ask. Besides peanut butter, are there any foods that your pedi recs staying away from or any that you will purposely steer clear of? Thanks!
We're still avoiding peanut butter, straight honey (though I *think* this one might be ok... I'm just nervous), nuts, chocolate, and strawberries/raspberries/etc. She did have some honey grahams this week and loved them. I know my best friend's pedi said to avoid citrus as well.
Peanut butter and nuts. Shellfish. Honey that is not cooked into something. You can use honey in baking recipes and have honey graham crackers. It is mostly the bacteria they worry about with honey. They can have chocolate according to our dr. GL
We were told honey is ok after 1 yr. but to avoid peanut butter and nuts, popcorn, chocolate, shellfish and strawberries (raw.) Also any choking hazards (cut bananas lengthwise as pp said, etc.) or anything that they probably can't chew anyway.
Re: Any foods to avoid after 12 mos?
Avoid: Honey and Peanut butter
Chocking hazzards: hotdogs and bananas cut in 4ths not rounds, popcorn, I dont have my list in front of me but those are a few.
