TTC After a Loss

Because I'm paranoid

A friend of mine that I teach with is probably 7, maybe 8 weeks pregnant.  She told all of the 5th grade students yesterday.  EEK!  I hope everything continues to go well for her.

I'm so paranoid now that I probably won't even tell my own family for a while!  Oh, to be so naive again . . .

Re: Because I'm paranoid

  • I know I feel the same way.... I kind of don't want to tell anyone until I'm showing or something.  It's not that I don't want to share the good news it's that I feel like everyone will me watching me like a hawk since they all know how hard this journey had been.

  • Wow, that's surprising.  Even with my first pg, I was paranoid, and there is no way I would have told work and let it all out until after the first trimester.
  • I waited to tell my students until 12 weeks, and by then they kind of were getting the idea something wasn't right since I was so tired and made them go out into the hall to eat their snacks.  It was so hard on the kids when we lost Miller, I think they went through their own grief.  Now another teacher is pg and she told her class at 4 1/2 weeks.  I kind of worry about that.  Also the kids are getting really sick of it because nothing is happening, it's taking forever.
