B-day party: Pizza or not?

We are having DS's party at a local place that only allows you to bring cake and ice cream.  They provide drinks, plates, etc.  They give the option of ordering pizza for an extra charge.  The party starts at 3:30 but the first hour is spent playing (their rule). At 4:30pm we will meet in a private room for the actual celebration.  We have that room for 1 hr and then guests can continue playing.  We are leaning towards providing pizza followed by cake and ice cream.  WDYT? Or do you think cake and ice cream alone is fine?  It's kind of an odd time but it works with nap time (we'll have 7-8 kids under 3).

Re: B-day party: Pizza or not?

  • Yep, I would order pizza just in case people there are hungry. DS's 2nd birthday party was yesterday, and we just ordered pizza, and had cake and ice cream, and it was ok.

  • I would order pizza.  I think by 4:30 people will be ready for dinner, or at least a snack.

  • We had something like that for dd's birthday party.  It was gymnastics first, then pizza, cake and ice cream.  We had one hour for the food part and one hour for the play part.
  • It's always better to have more than less food at a party, so I would definitely get the pizza.
