Has anyone used cytotec before? I am starting to get nervous that I will go through all the pain and everything that comes with taking it, only to need a d&c in the end. I am starting to get nervous not knowing what to do. Any advice? I am 6w5d with a blighted ovum if that helps.
Re: m/c advice
I replied to you on the m/c/PL board. I forgot to mention that the Cytotec did get everything. I didn't need a D&C afterwards. I had it done on 12/5, Friday, and went for a follow up on 12/8, Monday. They did an internal u/s and said that everything looked normal. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to email me or page me. lauraaldrich@hotmail.com
It is a tough call. I shared my experience in your post below. Though it did "work" for me and it was nice to be home and not have to go to the hospital, I think I would have the d&c if I had another m/c for 2 reasons. 1) It was really frustrating during the 2 weeks before my follow-up appt to not know if everything had completely passed and 2) it took an incredibly long time (85 days!) for me to get AF. it probably wasn't because of the meds, but you never know.
that said, since i've never had a d&c i don't know what to compare it to. good luck with your decision, and i'm sorry again you have to go through this.
:::HUGS::: I am SO sorry. I had a b/o back in October at close to 10 weeks. I found I had major mixed emotions over it, if you ever need to talk, page me please.
I don't have any experience with cytotec, I hope there is someone who does.
I shall be thinking of you especially over the next few days. All our love x?
I am SOOOO sorry. My heart hurts for you that you are dealing with this on top of everything else.
I opted for the d&e and I am glad that I did. It was easier to move on once the spotting stopped. :::hugs:::
I'm so sorry ((((((big hugs)))))) for you.
I used it with my last m/c. It worked fast, in about four hours and I think I passed everything that night. I was an emotional wreck but glad to get it over with.
