Tricks to Stop Milk Production?

Since i'm now doing 100% formula for my baby, what are some tricks to stop my milk from coming in? My boobs hurt sooo bad, even after the first missed feeding i couldn't even touch them. I pumped 1oz out of each, and got some relief for a few mins. But any other suggestions? Should I continue to pump some out? Or stop 100%?

do I need to be worried about Clogged ducts, etc..?

Re: Tricks to Stop Milk Production?

  • Maybe try a warm show to relieve yourself but using red cabbage leaves worked wonders for me w/ my first pg. I froze them and then put them in my bra overnight. Just be prepared to throw your bra away because the leaves will stain. Good luck!

  • I pumped a couple ounces from each side 4 times a day for a couple days, then 3 times a day, then 2 times then once a day until i stopped producing, however it took another week or so before i stopped leaking in the shower etc.  Also take some ib profren (sp?) and lots of it!  GL
  • My dr. told me to use frozen peas.  Seriously, they form around the breast well and help with pain too.  Just put the whole bag on your chest for about an hour in the morning, then put the bag back in the freezer, then do it again before bed.  Worked for me.  I stopped leaking in 2 days.  GL
