Anyone own an Ikea extendable bed?

So I'm consindering this bed for DD:

I like that it starts out small, but can easily be extended to a twin size bed.  The only difference I noticed between it and a regular twin bed is that it sits a little lower to the ground.  I'm hoping she'll use this for at least 5-6 years.  Does anyone have an extendable bed?  What are your likes/dislikes?  How much of an issue is it that it sits so low?

We have that bed in white (with the canopy!) for our 5 y/o. ?She loves it. ?We did not use as an extendable bed because we wanted to buy her a nicer mattress. ?We like it sitting low because she has always been able to get in and out of bed without trouble and we never had to use a bedrail. ?

DH says it was a pain to put together but it has held up well so far. ?We're very pleased with it. ??
