Chicco Highchair

We have the chicco highchair and for the life of me I can not figure out how to tighten up the straps that go around her waist. We removed the other straps because she was more interested in them than she was her food. It "looks" like we have them tight as can be but they are still really loose, any advice on how to tighten them? DH's solution is to duck tape them, I dont think so!

I dont think they get too tight. she should be fine with them tightened all the way and the tray in front of her

The waist straps--both sides--are one single "loop" of strap, so if you pull one side the other moves as well. The adjuster latch thingy is on the left side, if you're facing the seat. It may be tucked into the fabric slit and out of view, but if you feel around in there while gently tugging, it should pop out and you can see where/how to adjust it from there. It's not near the hooks-to-the-shoulder-straps part.
