Saline drops and congestion

Baby has had congestion for about 1 week and doc isn't concerned cause he has no fever.  He wants us to continue with the saline drops.  I had cut down the number of times I was giving it to him cause he sounded alot better but today he sounds very congested again.  I gave him his drops and he keeps spitting up all of his breastmilk but it has small white chunks in it.  Could this be the mucus?  Thanks for helping..

Not sure about the mucus. Do you use the aspirator when you give your baby saline drops? I usually suck all the boogies out within a couple minutes of giving DS saline drops and it really helps decongest him.

you might try steaming him too.  Ella has had the saem congestion/dryness for a few days and it comes and goes.  I steam her in the shower for about 10-20 minutes and then use the aspirator thing on her nose - it works pretty well.  I think the steam loosens the hard boogies.
