BM storage/freezing question

Yesterday morning I pumped and put the BM directly in the fridge.  Today I've pumped again, it's in the fridge as well.  Is it okay to combine the two and freeze, or should I freeze seperately/throw out yesterday's, etc.  Thanks!

Re: BM storage/freezing question

  • Good God, don't throw yesterday's out!

BM is good in the fridge for 8 days. If, after those 8 days you haven't used it, you can put it in the freezer.

And yes, you can combine the two, but if you're going to freeze, make sure you put yesterday's date on the storage bag (or whatever you're using).

  • Haha, thanks!  I just decided to start pumping day before yesterday to start a freezer stash so I don't really know what I'm doing...I'm going to go study up on kellymom!!

  • Kellymom is good.

Also, look into getting The Breastfeeding Book by Dr. Sears. That thing is my Bible!
