Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Baby book question

Have you started a baby book for your DC?  I got a cute one as a gift but STILL have not got around to starting it --- uggh.

I am feeling guilty but yet I still don't do it & DD is already 3 mths old!!  I really need a kick in the butt to get going on it before I forget everything.  Anyone else in the same boat or am I the only one who is unmotivated?

Re: Baby book question

  • Yes, but honestly, I've only filled out family info and then had people sign when they came to visit us....I really should get a start on it too before I forget stuff!

  • I actually just started filling out some of the info yesterday... I'm better with a box that I can throw things into for safe keeping.  btw your dd hat is sooooo cute!!
  • I've been keeping up with it. I'm so scared I'll forget things. I need to fill out the 2 month info, though. I don't know how well I'll keep up with it,though.
I want to start a scrapbook (a real scrapbook with actual scraps, not with a bunch of that expensive crafty stuff).

  • I started some of the info sections before he was born, thankfully or I never would have gotten to it. I have filled in a little here and there. He hasn't reached any milestones so there isn't a lot to do now. I can see how one would forget to do it though.

DD#2 lost in January 2012 at 23 weeks due to anhydramnios caused by a placental abruption
  • You really need to get going! You will forget things if you don't fill it out. I wasn't sure of the date of his first smile...so I had to write an approx. date. Now once he does something new, I try to fill it in as soon as possible so that I don't forget!
  • I've kept a journal since I found out I was pregnant that has cravings, info from appointments with my midwife, names DH and I liked, gifts I received, stuff about my shower, weight gain, etc. There was also an actual journal part to it. When DD was born, I started recording daily happenings and milestones, plus info from her appointments with her pediatrician. It's made catching up with a baby book so much easier.
