NBR: Never again!!

I will NEVER buy a real Christmas tree ever ever again! What a PITA. First, we got needles everywhere when we moved it outside because it's so dried out - which wouldn't be so bad except that my dogs have been eating them like crazy and we have huge gaps in our wood floor (it's the style, wide pine) and now there are needles stuck everywhere!

The kicker tho is that apparently there was a fruit fly nest somewhere in the tree and I've spent the last hour sucking those nasty things up with my dustbuster and STILL haven't gotten them all. Haaaaate!

Re: NBR: Never again!!

  • I swore real trees off about 2 years ago---- ended up getting a fake tree at Walmart at the end of the Christmas season for $20!!! I love it and best of all--- it looks real and you don't have the mess afterwards!

  • Ewww.  my DH wants a real tree and I always tell him no.  I don't want to clean up little needles everywhere either.
  • Our tree came with a pregnant spider that had babies that are now all over my ceiling.  It's so disgusting!!
  • Giggle at picturing you sucking them up!
  • Funny, DH wanted to buy a fake tree, too and I didn't want one. We got one last year after Christmas at 75% off so only paid $100 (in a couple years it will pay for  itself). We finally used it this year and it was sooo pretty. So glad we did that.

  • I LOVE my fake, pre-lit tree! It was so easy to put up and take down. It was a great investment!

    OMG! I would kill over!

We swore off real trees after our pets pulled ours down multiple times breaking ornaments and making huge needle messes. Not worth it!

  • We tried a real tree for the 1st time last year and we will never do it again b/c of the mess. Plus, DH is allergic, so we have to watch what kind we get (that's why we always had a fake tree..b/c if his allergies).

We bought a new fake tree this year b/c our old one was pretty skinny. The new one has plastic type needles, so it almost looks real (you know how the newer ones are now...they look more real). My Mom even commented on how your almost can't tell that it is fake.
