DS's sleep has been getting worse and worse since about the time I went back to work (about 2 months ago). Around the same time he started taking BM from bottles rather than nursing. Ever since those two changes, he has been waking up more frequently and he is currently waking every 2 - 3 hours at night when he had been sleeping an 8 hour stretch followed by a 3 hour stretch before this all started.
When he wakes, he is usually fussing and we will let it go for a bit, but neither of us has much patience, so we usually go in and rock him back to sleep...this cycle repeats itself all night after the first waking. I will usually feed him around 1 am and then at 5 am we will give him a bottle. He sleeps great if he is in our arms, but soon after laying him down in his crib, he starts fussing. DH and I are both exhausted and frustrated. We are ready to just start letting him sleep in our arms all night just so we can all get some sleep!!! We think he is getting enough BM during the day, so I don't think that is the problem.
I do have a call in to the pedi and our LC to see if they have any insight. Thanks for reading this if you have gotton this far and for any advice you can give!
Re: Help! 5 month old with sleep problems
I feel your pain. ?A lot of babes go through sleep regression from 4-6 months, so I take comfort in the fact that it is normal and will hopefully pass sooner than later.
?
At least your babies slept at ONE point, mine has never slept. Imagine being up every 30 - 45 minutes for 5 months! lol I'm dying
His smile just melts my heart. If he weren't so darn cute I don't know what I would do!
