Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I wish I could ask everyone to go feel their 3 months olds "soft spot

So DD is a little over 3 months and tonight I nonchalantly touched her head and noticed that her "soft spot" seemed more soft and of course I made myself nervous and have been worrying non stop about it..I admit that I could just be worrying for nothing, but need to see what other people say about there 3 month olds soft spot.  My pedi said everything is normal at her 3 month checkup..my friend who has an 8 month old told me tonight that her pedi said if you can actually see an indent then it could mean they are dehydrated, which dd isn't.  Then my parents felt it and we all noticed that next to her soft spot there seems to be a bump on one side..could this just be her head growing and forming so one side is ok to be lopsided?  Please tell me I'm worrying for no reason....TIA!

Re: I wish I could ask everyone to go feel their 3 months olds "soft spot

  • I noticed about a week ago that DD's soft spot seemed to be deeper than before. I was completely paranoid for like 4 days. I kept touching her head. I knew she was dehydrated because she was nursing like normal and had way more than plenty wet/dirty diapers. It's back to normal now. The wierd thing is when you can see her head/hair move because it's pulsating with her heart beat. That's a strange one. It doesn't always do it, just someties. Not sure about the bump though. I think I would call about it, but I call about everything.

  • She's fine. ?Jack's soft spot even pulses sometimes!?

  • DS's fontanel also seems sunken in sometimes, but will be normal at other times that same day, it's weird.  When he breathes, you can sometimes see that part move up and down.
