ok so my dd is now 2 weeks old. occasionally she will take 4 oz bottles already. is that ok? i thought it was ok, and we had mentioned it to the pedi before who seemed shocked but said give her what she wants. im just worried cuz a friend of mine said her 9 month old only takes 6 oz and at this rate, she'll b up to who knows at 9 months lol im going to start at midnight tonight and monitor every bottle intake and see exactly what she is getting n 24 hrs. the breastfeeding lady said 15.6 oz is what a baby her age need so ill see if shes eating more than that, but i just wanted to know what u would do, or see if ur newborn is eating 4 oz bottles occasionally?

another question is did//does any of ur babies have a hematoma from birth? she was a section baby, but she was stuck n my bones and has 2 hematomas to prove it. shes 2 weeks old and they r still there. any1 else have them? how long did it take to go down?

o and just a wondering question, dd can roll on her side already. is that normal for so young? lol

DD was taking 2 oz in a bottle until 2 months maybe. She's up to 4-5 oz now.

I can't comment on the hematomas, I hope they go away soon.

As far as the 4 oz, I am amazed, my DS is almost 7 weeks and takes around 3-4 oz per feeding (every 3 hours).  How often is your DC feeding?   I was told to take their weight and multiply by 2...that is an estimate of what they should eat in a 24 hour period, so 15 oz is probably about right.  I would follow your pedi's advice, you never know if there is growth spurt or not. If she is hungry feed her, she will let you know if she is has had too much.

Sounds like you have yourself a healthy and strong baby girl!

DS was rolling over at 3 weeks when we put him on his tummy.  He forgot how to do it and just rolled over for real the other day.

Perhaps its just a growth spurt?  I say if the baby's eating it, give it to her!

she feeds ever 4 hrs. less than 4 sometimes, but only if she took 2 oz... she only occasionally takes 4 oz bottles, im thinking it may b cluster feeding?

So YES!  Mine does 3-4 oz and has since....about 2 weeks.  I tried to breast feed and did not know until..SHe would feed for an hour BF(30 min each side). She was 11lbs 10.5 oz on 12/31
