Just wondering if anybody had an amnio for lung maturity. I will be 36w5d on Monday when I have the amnio. I have been struggling with PIH since 30 weeks (was hosptialized for a week) and am scheduled for a C-section on Tuesday (baby is breech). Just wondering if you had this done how far along were you when your baby had mature lungs... It sounds like I have a good chance of getting good results...Thanks for any info!
I also didn't have the amnio, but I delivered right at 37 weeks and she was as healthy as could be. Since you're almost to term, I'm sure the baby has developed just fine. GL!
I had steroids at 24 weeks and delivered at 34 weeks. I also didn't have any measurable amniotic fluid from 30-34 weeks. Her lungs were mature, she never needed any oxygen.
I also delivered early due to PIH and her lungs were mature at 35 weeks. They were worried she would need to be on oxygen for up to 2 weeks but once she arrived she was fine! Good luck with everything.
I delivered at 35 weeks (unexpectingly). DD had respiratory distress syndrome and was on oxygen and CPAP for a day. They monitored her for two days and she came home after four days.

are you having a boy or a girl?
lungs develop slower in boys - actually last out of black/white boys/girls.

I was shceduled for an amnio but ended up getting induced instead at 35 weeks when my bp hit 211/116. I had severe pre-e.
He had respitory distress syndrome, needed O2 and the Cpap in the nicu, was there 17 days.
But as you can see, I am in the minority here so I'm sure you'll be fine!!
Good luck!!!
