RP. New Medela vs. Used Ameda PY's

Posted on breastfeeding, but no answers yet. Thought I might try you experienced mothers.

I registered for a medela b/c friends said it was great. Another friend didn't have luck nursing and only used her Ameda PY's a few times. Is there a way to sanitize or easily replace the tubing/parts? I like the idea of saving money (buy at a reduced cost from her). I'm a little scared of the whole pumping thing, but plan to go back to work. A little background, I'm due 2/4 and will only have 8 weeks off before going back to work. Seems like now is a good time to get these shopping things taken care of.

    APY is a closed system, so you can just buy a new collection kit.

    Thank you so much!!! I'll look for that online. Do you know if they sell extra parts too? I'd like to have enough spare parts that I can just thoroughly wash everything at home after work. I've only researched Medela.

    The APY is FDA approved for multiple users, so you'd just need new collection parts.  I got my APY yesterday and used it for the first time this morning- so easy, and it worked great.  If you still want a new one, the APY is less expensive than the Medela PIS as well.
