There was a time when Jeffrey was only getting up once a night to eat. For the past few weeks though he's reverted back to twice a night. He gets three 5-oz. bottles at daycare, but I'm wondering if I should put 6 oz. in each bottle if that will give him more and MAYBE just maybe he won't have to be fed twice at night?
What do you think? Did this work for you?
Re: BFers- did upping the oz. in bottles at daycare = better sleep at night?
Actually- I sort of do. I get home from work at 6:30, so I feed him first thing, and then again when we put him down for bed around 8. Doesn't seem to help though.
It just seems like at those 2 night feedings, he's super hungry because he chows, even though he's practically asleep. I don't know if it's real hunger, or just hunger out of habit since he's so used to it. But the fact that it used to be 1 feeding, and recently has changed to 2 makes me think maybe he's just growing and thus needs more during the day. I guess we'll try it and see how it goes.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
I would not increase the amount in the bottle. 5oz is alot of milk. The way to figure out how much milk to send is - divide how many times baby nurses each day by 25. So say baby nurses 8x a day. Divide 8/25 = 3oz.
Your baby is reaching the 4 month growth spurt. My guess is he's missing you during the day and wants your comfort in the middle of the night and is having a growth spurt!
