Does "Happiest Baby on the Block" help a baby get into

a routine (eating and sleeping) or is it just to learn how to calm them  down?

Am I better off trying a different book to start learning how to get her into a routine?

  • It is all about calming them. Try the No cry sleep solution by Elizabeth Pantley.

  • At your baby's age, she will eat when she is hungry and sleep when she is tired. I don't think you can really do a routine this early. I believe in feeding on demand, especially in the beginning. I think some moms consider a routine (like the Baby Whisperer EASY) closer to 6 weeks at the earliest. Happiest Baby will give you tips to help soothe your baby.

  • In my experience it simply calms them down...gotta say though, I LOVED it!  And logically if they are easier to calm they might fall into a routine easier.

  • I just finished reading "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" and actually she recommends trying the EASY routine from the beginning...but being flexible. You could give it a shot.

  • It's to help calm them down. ?We use Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child - or well at least reference it - it's hard to get into a set routine when they're this young. ?Just when you think you have one down, they change!
