BF/BM question

background - i had planned on BFing, but my milk didnt come in, even with domperidon prescript

she loved the boob, so once or twice a day i would put it on her, she would get the dribbles, and then finish off with formula

there has been a few days that we skipped, but MOST evenings she gets boob... last night i put her on, and she stayed on for a half hour - not normal for her, AND i was still able to express a drop

do ya's think im starting to produce more now? or was it just a fluke? or perhaps because we had skipped the day before?

Re: BF/BM question

  • The more you pump or BF the more milk you are supposed to make. ?I think it's possible. ?She could have been just sucking to suck though??? ?

    Have you tried pumping??

  • yea, once we figured out in the hospital that my milk didnt come in i started pumping there, and then i rented a pump when we went home ... i pumped for 2 weeks solid

the largest quantity i ever got was about 1/3 of an oz (both breasts together)

  • If your getting SOME milk, then doesn't that mean that your milk came in??? ?I would PUMP all the time for a while to see if maybe it did...

My LC told me to pump after every feeding. ?I would only pump for 5 minutes (double pump) each time. ?I had SOOOOOO much milk!!! ?I would fill both the containers past the 5 oz mark every time. ?It took a while though. ?At first, I only got a dribble out of each.

It's a lot of work but if you have some milk, you might be surprised! ??
