Should I name my baby in honor of my mom or pick a name I love?

My mom passed almost exactly a year ago. This is my first kid but if it were a girl I wanted to name it Scarlet - a name my mom almost named me but chickened out and always said she wished she had gone through with it. But I’m falling in love with other names now and idk what to do. I could use Scarlet as a middle name but doesn’t Really seem to fit with the first names I am liking, or I could save it for a future baby but that future baby might never come this could be an only child or I could have boys in the future.

Maybe the best way to honor your mom is to pick the name you love most. Because it sounds like she regretted not doing that.

Could you do 2 middle names? 

I think there are plenty of ways to honor your mom other than going with Scarlett, maybe tying in your moms first/middle/maiden name in some way.
