Month/Cycle: 3/1AL

CD: 18

WAYDTGKU: PNV, HIO, CM, cervical position check

R/R: I think, finally, *now* I'm ovulating. Six days later than usual.  CPs are no joke  

It's been taking some practice getting to know my body through cervical position checks. I thought DH and I had great timing but we were probably too early. Let's hope he has enough stamina for one more round tonight!

WAYDTGKU: Letrazole, IUI, progesterone, all the vitamins and supplements

R/R: Had my first US this morning. I only had 1 follicle, but it was a pretty good size for only being CD 10. I'm usually a late ovulator so it's nice to see it stepping up to the plate early.

WAYDTGKU: Spicy bedroom times. DH is about to hit the road again for four months, so I'm also going to be looking at plane tickets for October to go visit him. My birthday is late october, so you know, why not??? Better than taking a month off of trying.

R/R: I'm halfway through the final edits for my novel, which is a huge relief. Time to get back into being active now that I'm feeling better: swimming, sword fighting, weight lifting, etc.

And on the medical side, since I have medical PTSD:

I finally saw a Midwife, which was a huge stress relief re: heat injury affecting my fertility, among other things. After some hand holding, I feel a whole lot better about the process we're heading into. She is happy to work with my PCP as needed and had no problem running bloodwork for my peace of mind. 

CS/Q: Still not convinced BBT will work for me in the summer, so I'm going to look into what other things I think I can track without stressing too hard.

@nicmkw Have you considered checking your cervical position? That's what I do because temping isn't reliable for me either. Here is a good article that explains checking in depth. The app I use (Kindara) lets me log position, openness, and texture. A hard cervix will feel like the end of your nose, a medium cervix will feel like your chin, and a soft cervix will feel like your lip. There is also a diagram that shows the "knuckle rule" for cervix height. For me, if I can barely find my cervix, that means it's in prime position!

@nicmkw You should totally take a trip to visit your H! Also, what is your novel about?

WAYDTGKU: Regularly DTD, OPK, trying myo-inositol to see if it helps at all with cycle regulation

R/R: How come doctors know so little about women’s reproductive systems? I’ve learned more about fertility and proactive measures to take by lurking & asking questions here than I ever have from an ob/gyn. 😆

CS/Q: Not currently!

*lurking* @liberator0423 you're so very right about how little docs know about female reproduction. my favorite story from my own experience is having a (male) gyn tell me with total confidence that i wouldn't need pain killers or anesthetic for the cone biopsy he was about to take from my cervix because "women don't have nerve endings in their cervixes." as it turns out, we do. i screamed.

@liberator0423 - Plane ticket is now booked!

I write epic fantasy. (Epic military fantasy - Since I'm in the military, I like to be able to tell the very military found-family stories and show people who are idealists and trying to make the world a better place inside of a really cool world of fae and magic.) Book 1 takes place during the four days before a graduation tournament for new officer cadets (think Westpoint) as a dying warlord and the graduating officers are all trying desperately to survive the next foru day. Cadets just want to graduate, warlord is trying to leave on a diplomatic envoy to make peace with their long time enemies. (His military thinks he's defecting, but he's not really. It's a whole plot.)  The barracks mother who interacts with both of them eventually gets involved to sort things out. There are assassination attempts, politics, dryad magic, and so many people with wings! (Really, everyone has feathered wings. It's super fun.) LGBT+, too. That's the quick and dirty feel of the world inside my head.  


@optimistgardener - I had to tell a teaching hospital I WAS NOT coming back after they wanted to schedule cone biopsy #7. Yes I make a good patient, you all can walk right off a short bridge over a deep river. I had one maybe bad test result and the rest was "inconclusive". Just no. That HURTS.
