Sorry I had to post and ghost yesterday! It was a busy work day, and when we went to celebrate my friends' engagement. Also, wtf with ppl wanting to meet at a bar at 8pm. I'm almost 38 yrs old! It's like... just about when I start getting ready for bed. </rant>

@pinkkillersheep I hope your progesterone results give you some answers. I also remember my undergrad course in tax law... it was SOOOO dreadful. And I imagine US tax law is ever worse, given that the tax legislation is like 70,000 pages long. 

@paytonpedro @pinkkillersheep we ran into our neighbor corgi on 2 walks yesterday, so I've got some great photos already. My corgi is definitely the alpha (even though she's smaller and is the female). She actually body slammed the other one!!! We were all a bit shell shocked. Haha. I'll post some photos in the randoms channel once we have our "official" day in the park tomorrow.

R/R: I pissed. I've been spotting for a few days, and Proov strips confirm low progesterone, but AF is slow to show. *shakes fist* I just want to get this next cycle started so that I can have a better idea if when I'll have to start my stims. My sister is also gonna come visit me after my next egg retrieval, so we can firm up her plans just as soon as AF shows. SO C'MON AF!!!

GTKY: What superstition(s) do you follow, even if you don't 100% believe in it? Good one. I'm of Russian decent and Russians have a lot of superstitions. I think the biggest ones are: never celebrating any event before it happens (i.e. can't celebrate b-day before / but okay to do it after, even much later than the actual event). This is also one of the reasons why I'll never have a baby shower (well, and also because I think baby showers reinforce traditional gender stereotypes), and instead will have something like a sip & see (my parents didn't come to my sister's baby shower). The other big one is never giving anyone an even number of flowers; always odd. And never giving your spouse yellow flowers (means you're cheating). Also, spitting over your left shoulder 3 times if a black cat crosses your path. And definitely lots of knocking on wood. Oh, and never gifting anyone a knife. If you do, you have to ask for some nominal amount of money (i.e. 5 cents) back because then it's a "purchase".

@acleverusername that hilarious that your litte girl is the dominant pup, but I feel like females usually are haha. Can’t wait to see those cute pupper pics! My family is of Eastern European decent (Polish/German/Baltic) and a lot of ours are similar or I’ve heard of them. I’m sorry you’re upset with AF  I feel like it never just goes according to plan, even after you feel like you finally have it figured out!

R/R: I had such a good day at work today. It was quiet and easy like Saturday's should be!! But my boobs are hurting and I’ve been having some cramping.  I know I’m sensitive to hormones and that it’s just the progesterone but it’s annoying. I’m hoping my lp is a good length and this doesn’t indicate af arriving sooner than it should. I’m also not solid on my dates even though my bbt is pretty clear.

GTKY: What superstition(s) do you follow, even if you don't 100% believe in it?

all the generic bad luck ones, not that I even really follow, but when a black cat crosses my path I think about it. Do ghosts fall into being superstitious? Because if so I’m 100% a believer. I totally knock on wood all the time and I throw salt over my shoulder if it spills.

@paytonpedro you work at the vet hospital, right? Glad that you had an easy Saturday shift! It helps make weekends feel more like weekends, even though you're working. Progesterone side effects are THE WORST. The first few months I took them, I was sure that I was KU'ed each time. But of course, that didn't happen. If you're on progesterone, you shouldn't get AF until after you stop it. I actually have to wait 3-4 days after stopping before getting it, but it varies by person. I forgot about the salt spilling being bad luck / causing a fight with your loved one. I do that too.

@acleverusername yep an animal hospital!! My Saturdays used to be easy until we merged hospitals back in January, it’s been crazy since then. So it’s so nice to have a slow, normal Saturday. 

I’m not even on progesterone. I’m just sooo sensitive to my own hormones. Although, I’ve probably mentioned before that I think I should be, I just haven’t bit the bullet yet. 

The superstitions are so goofy but I still totally do it. Haha. I also believe in jinxing yourself. Is that a superstition?

R/R: I ended up missing all of the festival for Friday and most of Saturday because unfortunately I had class this weekend, but I had a TON of fun last night. My angsty teenage self definitely came out. But of course headbanging in your 30s feels significantly worse the next day than in your 20s 😣 

CS/Q: Progesterone came back at 16.3 which I assume is good? Since it was a Friday test I don’t have the dr’s comments yet.

GTKY: What superstition(s) do you follow, even if you don't 100% believe in it? I work in manufacturing and we are very superstitious. Never talk about how well things are running because the place will immediately catch on fire. And if you do say something that could be interpreted as a positive comment, knock on wood afterwards.

@pinkkillersheep ooof. Head banging. That’s giving me a headache just thinking about it haha. But I’m so glad you had such a great time and got to relax and enjoy your night despite missing a little bit earlier. Sounds like you had a really awesome time and I hope you’re able to take it easy today! Yes,work superstitions are a real thing! We have a couple PITA clients and when we haven’t seen them in a while and mention it (or even think of them!!) they come in within the next week. So we’re always sure to knock on wood!!

@acleverusername what is a sip and see? I had a Russian teacher in high school and on Valentine’s Day he always told us about the even  number of flowers superstition to make sure no one was giving out a dozen roses. Lol 

@pinkkillersheep oohh work superstitions! I hadn’t even thought about that. 

@paytonpedro yes I think jinxing yourself is a superstition! In terms of don’t say this or that because you’ll jinx it/yourself etc. Last time we went to a baseball game, one of the players on the other team started with our team for 10yrs and when he switched fir more money, all the fans were upset. when he came out to bat, I said “surely he wouldn’t dare score a home run in his old stadium against this team. And BAM! He scored the winning homerun. Ugh. My husband won’t let me live it down yet hahaha.

R/R: yesterday was a very hard day for me. I didn’t lose a loved one on 9/11, but it hits me every year. And lately, it seems that the date itself has become more and more meaningless with all sorts of things scheduled for that day. Birthday parties, festivals, I don’t know. I’m not saying the world should stop altogether for that day, but it feels like there’s very little acknowledgement other than in the news. It’s a day I struggle with and emotionally exhausting. Mh and I make sure to watch some documentary or whatever specials the news are showing. I don’t ever want to forget. If I had lost someone that day, I wouldn’t want others to forget.

GTKY: What superstition(s) do you follow, even if you don't 100% believe in it?

knock on wood, even with thinking too. My husband is now used to it, but I’ll sometimes randomly knock in wood and it’s because of something I was thinking. Lol 
don’t pass salt shaker from hand to hand. So if someone asks me for the salt shaker, I set it on the table first, and THEN they pick it up. I’ve had odd moments with people who don’t know that I have this superstition because they have their hand out for the salt shaker and I’m like wait, put your hand down, hahaha. 

Jinxing yourself or things. Or that “spoke too soon” thing. 

Not a full superstition but if you don’t want it to rain, bring an umbrella with you.
I have a lot of rituals for New Year’s Eve. I guess they could be superstitions. 

I’m Mexican so there’s usually a candle to the virgin of Guadalupe lit in my house. 

I believe in signs, whether it be from fair, god, or loved ones we have in heaven. 

I guess you could say I’m very superstitious hahaha.

@pinkkillersheep glad to hear that you were able to enjoy at least one day of the festival. What kind of music was it? I definitely hear you in the recovery time in your 30th. Hits you like a ton of bricks!

@hgsurvivor c&p definition of a sip and see from The Spruce “a sip and see party, which originated in the south, provides an opportunity to have friends and family over at one time to meet and greet a new baby or child shortly after birth or adoption. This party to welcome the new baby is sort of like an open house baby shower.” 

Also agree with you re: 9/11. It’s a day I’ll never forget. I think my parents still have the news recordings from that day on VHS.
