I just watched Four Weddings and now I’m curious. Tell me about your wedding. Was it what you imagined? Would you have changed anything? AW your wedding!
My wedding wasn't what I had hoped for, but it was perfect. Courthouse marriage, we didn't tell anyone. I was pregnant and we wanted to be an official "family" before baby came. We had been together 15 years already, so things just fell into place. Only thing I wish is we had a party to dance and celebrate with family and friends. But we had the baby shower exactly 1 month later, so we got to celebrate 2 happy occasions
@scaredunprepared I had a big wedding (well not huge.. like 120 people) and it was nice but I would of preferred a small backyard wedding myself. I feel like since I was the first to get married in my family, there was pressure to do it at a venue. It ended up being really nice. I loved the ceremony part and we wrote our own vows. The party part was fine too but the air conditioner broke at the venue and it was one of the hottest days of the year. DH almost fainted. We were given the cost of the venue back but I still would of rather the air had worked haha. Something we will never forget I guess
I would redo our wedding in a heartbeat. Everything was exactly how I could've imagined it or even better. I wish it wouldn't have gone by in the blink of an eye. It was so awesome to have all our friends and family together in one place to help us celebrate. The only thing I would've changed is I wish we would've got more pictures. It got crazy crazy hot and I was just over them at one point. And we didn't get a whole wedding party picture. 🤦🏼♀️ I realized this the next day as we were leaving the country. 😫
We got married in Jamaica! Had 28 of us there and it was nice it was smaller! We also had 150 person party reception a month later at home in a local pavilion. It was fun but I didn’t really need the reception. I already felt totally married! Would love to go back to our resort in Jamaica right about now!

My wedding was in July and so hot! I probably would’ve changed the season if I could go back. And then it started raining right when it was time for me to start walking down the path from the reception to the outdoor area for the ceremony. Someone held an umbrella for me and my dad, since everyone was already seated haha. Luckily we had a huge canopy and the rain actually cooled it down a bit. My biggest regret is probably not getting many good pictures after the ceremony. Part of that was the rain, and part of it was just not prioritizing it I suppose. I also stressed a lot about the people to invite (100+), and now we’re not in touch with a lot of them anymore! It was a great day though, and we stayed within budget (somehow) while also creating a memorable day for us and our guests.
@rpreston17 I had a very similar experience with pictures and the heat! I also didn’t get one with my entire wedding party either. So many small groups but none with all of us! Oh well haha!
@kaitcrystalline it sounds like a lot of us had hot weddings, haha! That stinks about the AC! I was so afraid I was going to pass out during my ceremony from the heat and stress
@scaredunprepared that was great timing for a celebration for your little one and your marriage!! I bet that was a happy day!
Ours was in November & it was wonderful. I wouldn't call it everything I hoped for, but definitely wonderful nonetheless. We got married on my parents back patio that overhangs a canal. We had a catered BBQ with a few close family & friends. It turned into a great time to just sit back, laugh, and be married!! We had a great time!
Our wedding was perfect. It was just our immediate families and two close friends, one of whom married us. And we had dinner and cake at a restaurant afterward. We wanted something super small and low-key. It was the first (and so far only) time our families had met and it was just an amazing day.
@scaredunprepared ours was a courthouse wedding too! We got married at the House of Love and paid like $55. Unlike you though, we had only met and been together for three weeks before we got married. We then spent our honeymoon in Iraq. We’ve been married for 16 years.
I didn’t want to get married, but my partner’s family is hella traditional and he’s an only child now since his younger sister passed away - so it was *very* important to his mother for us to get married and have a wedding. I love his family and get it, so we decided to have a wedding and just never do the paperwork. I’m sure everyone thinks we are actually married, and his mother was over the moon.
It was an absolutely perfect day. More of a big party than a wedding: no flowers, no official wedding party members, sent out flyers, no cake, had a food truck. We took the subway to the Staten Island Ferry ⛴ (free!) and took 200 of our closest friends with us. Our mutual best friend “officiated” and when we kissed we were surrounded by our friends, a bunch of strangers commuting, and the captain gave us a big honk when we kissed. I had double decker tour buses to take everyone through Manhattan to our friend’s bar that she let us take over for the night on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge where my older daughters brought us a cheesecake they made 🥺💕 and we had a photo booth and danced until the sun came up. We had so much fun 🕺
@scaredunprepared and @eggsbene42 We got married at the courthouse, but we didn't tell anybody and we had a wedding 6 months later. We still haven't told anybody 7 years later lol.
Our wedding was awesome. It was in May in a garden at a historical home and the weather was perfect. Everyone had a great time. If I could change anything though, I would have hired a coordinator because while I relaxed and had fun on the wedding day, DH was stressed with getting some things set up.
I actually wanted to elope but my husband said I would regret it. Anyways we both got second jobs so we could pull it all off. We had a two year engagement which helped! We had a barn wedding but it was all renovated on the inside and the ceremony was by a pond outside. I made all the signage, invites, centerpieces, and my husband made an arch for the ceremony. It was a perfect day! I'd probably only change our DJ because they did not follow our timeline and they were just rushing me to do things which didn't make sense! I would also not invite a lot of the people we did. We had 14 no-shows who never followed up!
We loved our destination wedding! It was so perfect for us. We didn’t have a wedding party. Our son (he was 3) was the only person in the wedding. We had 50 of our close family & friends that traveled to Jamica. I would do it all over again. The only thing I would change is hiring a videographer. I wish we had our day on film. Fingers crossed that we’ll be able to travel back to Jamica in October for our 5th wedding anniversary!
@mommyb31- where in Jamaica?!! We were at couples swept away! 8 years ago videos weren’t as common but we did record the ceremony on my husbands camera and he made us a highlight video that I love!!

@JamieH2000 we were in Ocho Rios at the Riu. We had to make sure it was kid friendly because of our son & nieces/nephews. My cousin recorded our ceremony on his phone then dropped it in the ocean😩 Lol
