</div><div>R/R:  I get to start on my holiday baking today!  And I'm exhausted! Lol I also need to look around for my fancy shoes, decide which dress I'm wearing, and pick a backup outfit to change into in case I don't stay in my Easter dress all day... I'm super happy we get to celebrate this year, but it's hard to get excited when you're so darn tired. 😫</div><div>
</div><div class="Spoiler">CS/Q: So my temp was still a little obnoxious today, but I finally get CH if I discard just the one temp from a couple days ago - even leaving in all the ugliness from my FP! 😬 I'm pretty confident that's what happened, so I'm going with it.  Moving over to TWW, even though I'm really just WFAF.

I'm kicking myself tho, because I used to absolutely <i>lurve</i> my BBT I got ages ago from CVS.  And I'm pretty sure I chucked it eventually - either way, I can't find it.  So I got the easy @ home one from Amazon a year or two ago because CVS was no longer selling BBTs when I looked, (or at least not the location I visited.)  And I can't say I'm a huge fan.  I got it for the backlighting, but I hate to say, I don't really trust the temps that much, it takes a super long time to read etc.  So who knows.  I just hope I can choose a workable temping time for next cycle and get some more consistent readings, cos otherwise, what's the point. :/

  • @ReadyForaB Just going to Easter Sunday Mass, and then SILs for the afternoon.  It'll be the usual little bubble gathering at her place, but considering nobody went anywhere last year, it feels amazing to start getting back to normal again.  GL with your bloodwork tomorrow!  Thanks again for the fancy watch recommendation, too - I'm looking forward to seeing how it works out!
  • @BusinessWife i am also excited to see family this weekend, both sets of parents are vaccinated, so are my and MH and then about half the siblings.

@ReadyForaB i'm piggybacking off @BusinessWife fancy watch? do you use the ava bracelet? as you'll see below i'm apparently not capable of remembering to pee on opks so i'm debating another route...

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 9

    WAYDTGKU: apparently forgetting everything...

R/R: woke up at 1am to pee... thought should i use the opk? then thought nah hasn't been longest sleep, will do it when i wake up for the day... what did i forget to do when i woke up for the day. le sigh.

    CS/Q:
  • @anniemarie887 No, not ava, she shared a link yesterday for an inexpensive step tracker on Amazon, so I took the plunge!  Ughh, sorry about the opk troubles.  So annoying.  I will usually take two a day when the time comes, and err on the side of just get the sample, rather than worrying about it being perfectly 12 hours apart or whatever 🤷
  • @BusinessWife I think that's the same thermometer that I got from Amazon.... also for the backlight haha. It's been fine for me, and the backlight is definitely helpful, but after a while it seemed like it was taking 3 minutes to give me a temp! Then at some point it was giving me the low battery sign but would still work just fine. Eventually I just said f*ck it and replaced the battery even though it hadn't actually died. Hasn't given me problems since, but it's very weird for it to die in what seems like a very short period of time, even considering daily use. Eh, whatever.

@ReadyForaB I definitely don't miss my blood work days going through IF. I never liked having to provide a lot of blood because feeling that needle move around makes me squeamish. Bleh, very uncomfortable feeling.

@anniemarie887 meh, you'll be fine if you get it in at some point today. You're only CD9! I can't remember, are you using the CBAD? I know those tell you to start testing quite early.

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: GF/DF diet, temping, OPKs, CM tracking

R/R: it's "Friday"! DH and I had cleared out some brush from the wooded area of our lot earlier this week to make way for 700 (yes 7 hundred) fern bulbs that are being delivered sometime late next week or early the following. Thank god for wholesale plant prices. The plan is to cover much of the wooded area in ferns that will eventually propagate and cover more of the wooded area. Going to look super awesome! I'm on my own tomorrow since DH still has to work so not sure what I'll be doing in preparation for that. I may end up doing completely unrelated yard work to that since I am definitely not comfortable using the trimmer, especially with a fresh blade on it.

@inthewoods23. Ooh!  Specifically which fern(s) did you get?  We have some here where I live, which is awesome, (I just wish they were more in the back of the property and less in the front of the house), last spring was the first one I finally harvested some fiddleheads to eat, and they came out awesome!  That sounds like such a fun project.

ETA and ooof.  OMG does this thing take 4FR to get a read.... I'll have to see if I have the right batteries.
  • @BusinessWife @inthewoods23 thanks ladies! and yes the cbd opk - package says start on like day 7, which i already bungled by starting on day 8. good to know the timing isnt so do or die.
  • @BusinessWife let me think.... I think we bought christmas ferns, hay scented ferns, and..... shoot can't remember the 3rd type. I know it's not an ostrich fern - we do have a few of those in the front of our house though. They are massive haha. Maybe it's the new york fern?

@anniemarie887 when is your typical O date? I think as long as it has the opportunity to give you a low, high, and then peak reading it's really probably not too late. I forget what the box says since I haven't used them in years... doesn't it say most get high readings for at least 3 days?

  • @inthewoods23 i think day 11 based on cycle length and CM. trying to use the OPKs to sort that out, and i don't think i have the discipline to temp. know thyself. lol
  • @BusinessWife I...would love to hear more about your easter baking!
@ReadyForaB GL with the bloodwork! It's not fun :(
@anniemarie887 that sounds so exciting! glad you're getting to see family after this time! on forgetting the OPKs...I am guilty of this, which is why I have taken to keeping them as close to the toilet at possible and in clear view so I can't possibly miss them lol
@inthewoods23 okay so now I'm envious of what is essentially a WHOLE FOREST being delivered to your house and that will take over your backyard. it sounds gorgeous and like a lot of work!

R/R: nothing much today! looking forward to a weekend filled with few plans. DH and I are starting to look at things to do that are not at home now that he's gotten dose one, and it's a mix of feelings.

    CS/Q: nothing yet really
  • @BusinessWife nice, what are you baking?
    @ReadyForaB blugh, bloodwork's no fun
@anniemarie887 I think OPKs are supposed to be more accurate in the later morning/afternoon anyway, right?
@inthewoods23 nice, it's such a good feeling to see the landscaping plans you make happen
@chgilmore I definitely get the mixed feelings. I'm excited for us to have our first doses Monday, I'm impatient for everyone to be fully immunized

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 22

WAYDTGKU: cm, bbt, opks, cinnamon supplements

R/R: woo! managed to get vaccine appointments for my husband and myself when they opened up to our age bracket at midnight. Huge weight off our shoulders. Plus the cold I had yesterday is much better today.

    CS/Q:

  • @fantasyflyte congrats on your appts! and I'm glad you're feeling better! you described the feeling well, the impatience for everyone else to be vaccinated. live performance events are starting to get planned out here and I am simultaneously excited by and nervous about it, especially since there are still so many unvaccinated folks currently
  • @chgilmore @fantasyflyte

    (Semi copied from TWW)
I have a cute little sugar cookie recipe I made last year where the cookies look like pastel colored rainbow eggs? The same site has like a chocolate chip cookie where she uses those cadbury candy shell eggs (which I love), so I want to try that as well. I also have some pretty sprinkle-covered blossom cookies, I was thinking about making PB and chocolate varieties, as well as carrot cake muffins with real cream cheese icing, and classic jelly bean garnish.  But the <i>piéce de resistance</i> I *really* wanted to make though is the poppy seed roll cake, which I have never made. So I feel like I should probably get going here, because I have my work cut out for me!  He groceries came and I kind of on a whim decided to roast a chicken for dinner.  So I need to just clean up the whole kitchen here and get into cookie mode 😆

R/R: I tempted today, and forgot to put it into FF...I'm so mad at myself right now...

    CS/Q: not right now
  • @anniemarie887 girl if you I normally on CD11 then I hope you remembered to test!

@chgilmore omg yes it's going to be so much work. They come dormant so they are refrigerated. I think we have to get them planted within a few days or they may die. Being just the bulbs though and not a mature plant it should be pretty quick to plant each one. We'll see.... The rest got long so spoilering it.
To give you a bit of an idea of the wooded area, enjoy these pictures of my cat lol. Our lot ends all the way in the back of the trees. The 2nd picture is towards our neighbor so these trees are part of 3 or 4 lots. So yeah... Imagine all that back there but with ferns. And to be clear, only a small portion of this will get covered by the number of ferns we bought if you follow the rule of spacing them between 1 and 3' from each other.

    @fantasyflyte woo vaccines!

@deaf_girl does your thermometer not have a memory recall feature? That's super helpful to have when you need to temp at a particular time but go back to bed or need to rush out the door.

  • Yes @deaf_girl what @inthewoods23 said!  If I press the button just once quickly, it shows the last temp.
  • @inthewoods23 that's the weird part...it normally saves it. I put in the one that it says, but we will see what tomorrow brings. I picked up a new one for my next cycle...hopefully it's better.
  • @deaf_girl you might have pressed the button a second time. I believe with mine that it clears the temp if I turn it on then back off without getting a new temperature taken. So the next time I turn it on its just blank.
