Bringing this thread back! Easing back in with a monthly thread.
Pick any or all or none of the following things to check-in with: - What healthy habit have you embraced today? - Share your healthy habit goals for the next few days.
- What apps or videos have you enjoyed or found easy to stick to in life during varying levels of quarantine/lockdown/stay-at-home orders? - If you have a Peloton or other at-home workout equipment, what are some favourite instructors or specific routines/classes? - Cheer others on!
I went to a yoga class tonight and it felt so good to do something! I plan to go to one class a week. Tonight was just a restorative class, but I will switch it up between a flow/restore class.
We have a stationary bike and I want to give it a whirl, but I don’t really know where to begin. I could just hop on and pedal, but I kind of want someone to tell me what to do. @hannelorre or @the_most_happy can you tell me what to do?!
I'm on vacation, so my healthy habits are virtually non-existent currently. But, at home, I have been doing pre natal yoga videos on YouTube in the evenings. I would love to attend a pre-natal yoga class in person, but most are currently virtual due to COVID. I'm hoping that the class I took for both my previous pregnancies will be offered again in the near future. I truly credit it as helping me with pain management during labor.
I have so few healthy habits. I've stared doing yoga once or twice a week since feeling better. I've been doing physio exercises most days for a few weeks so that's good.
Right now the priority is physio because I tweeked my back a touch when I started work in the vineyard.
@pickle-chips next time you're going to the restore text me! Getting back into a class would be great.
My current “healthy habit” I have been trying to focus on is to drink at least a 1/2 gallon of water. It’s so hard because I have to pee all the time 🤣
As far as for exercise- my gym has been open a lot of this time through quarantine... So, I have continued to lift weights throughout my pregnancy. I have just cut it down to 3x a week. And I try to hike once a week as well!
When our gyms were totally shut down I did LIIFT 4 on Beach Body! Its still my go to on days I can’t make it into the gym.
I've started reading Prepare to Push by Kim Vopni as recommended by my pelvic PT. It's a free download online. It's all about the pelvic floor and core, lots of exercises and info in it!
- What healthy habit have you embraced today? Have been able to do about 30 minutes of working out per day.
- Share your healthy habit goals for the next few days. I really need to cut down on sugar. A few days ago I made cookies because the almond butter in the pantry was about to expire, and that stuff is so expensive! and then I made cupcakes for DS 2nd bday yesterday. I'm trying to find someone to give the extras to!
- What apps or videos have you enjoyed or found easy to stick to in life during varying levels of quarantine/lockdown/stay-at-home orders? I've been doing beachbody on demand since I had kids (before I did it only during travel, and was a daily hot yoga person). I love barre blend. I also do Obe prenatal workouts, mostly barre. If its a really rough day I lay down and do a 10 minute legs only.
- If you have a Peloton or other at-home workout equipment, what are some favourite instructors or specific routines/classes? No workout equipment here, gave it all away to make room for more kids play space...
@pickle-chips a yoga class sounds so nice! i missed hot yoga so much this winter. I can't wait to go again one day.
fitmomma1989 Is the LIIFT 4 pretty easy to modify? I havent done that one before but probably should be changing it up a little soon.
