Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Tuesday 3.9

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Month/Cycle: 5/4

    CD/DPO: 39/10

    Timing: O-2

    Typical LP length: 10-11 days

    Testing: tomorrow

R/R: caved and POAS yesterday despite knowing an afternoon pee at 9po is pointless. Not too confident since my temp's been steadily dipping the last few days and I usually have a slight dip before the plummet on CD1. At least my luteal phase seems to be a decent length. And at least it's beautiful this week, I'm actually doing my online class outside instead of masked in a study lounge.

CS/Q: bit of a dip, probably going to have a BBT plummet tomorrow. At least the luteal phase is fairly predictable despite PCOS, even if CD1-O isn't. ETA throw in the cramps that just started and I'm pretty sure CD1 is tomorrow.

  • edited March 2021

@fantasyflyte remind me where you're located that's making it possible for you to study outside? In any case, that's great news! Good weather puts me into such good mood!

    Month/Cycle: 14/14

    CD/DPO: 32/11

    Timing: -4, -3, -1, O

Typical LP length: no typical; hCG micro-dosing this cycle along with 100mg of progesterone suppositories

Testing: Saturday (16DPO), but I'm 97% certain that I'm not KUed and AF might come earlier.

R/R: I was so tired yesterday because of consecutive nights of lackluster sleep but I finally got semi-decent sleep today. Still pretty restless though. I keep hoping that it's the changes in diet that's causing this and that my body is going to adjust soon. I might also try going totally caffeine free, but need to get some robust caffeine-free tea first. Anyone have any suggestion? I love Rooibos tea, but I feel like I need a bit more variety. Suggestions welcome.

CS/Q: Temps dropping, but I took another hCG shot yesterday. Not sure if it was too late to stimulate my corpus luteum to produce more progesterone; feels like it to me. I'm still taking progesterone suppositories though until the standard 13DPO, so AF might arrive shortly thereafter.

  • @acleverusername I'm in southern New England, this whole week is supposed to be 60 and sunny! There was a decent breeze during my class though, and I was in the shade, so it got a little nippy.
Sorry about the falling temps. I can't offer any tea advice since I don't drink it, but my husband likes peach ginger and wild berry herbal teas, alongside the usual like mint and cinnamon ones.
  • @fantasyflyte we're having some lovely weather here too! But I hear we're back down in the 40s later. It'll be nice while it lasts.

@acleverusername I think herbal tea is the only one with caffeine? I'm not totally sure lol. Most of the time if I'm having tea it's either Tazo or Bigelow

    Month/Cycle: 4 AL

CD/DPO: 19/3 (per FF) or 1 (per me and if I change FF's detection method to OPKs instead of advanced)

    Timing: -4, -2, -1, 0 (per me)

    Typical LP length: 13 days

Testing: well, I was hoping it could be St. Patrick's Day for the luck, but looks like we're going to have to do the day after for 10dpo

R/R: we're in the 60s today! We might actually sleep with the window cracked tonight. Who knows. I've got nothing else really exciting to say lol. Just need to wait some time for the TWW to go by. I look forward to next week for both testing and we finally get our electrical panel upgraded and move! woohoo!

CS/Q: you can see why there's some disagreement over my O date. I had a very close positive on Saturday, but still not positive so FF is clearly wrong in this setting. Hoping things change once I get a few more temps entered.

@acleverusername are you looking for caffeine free or decaf? (Decaf) Chai is my go to for a bold tea to replace coffee. Not truly caffeine free since it's decaffeinated, but it's a good very low caffeine option. I like earl gray as well, and I'm pretty sure you can find that decaffeinated as well. I also do peppermint tea every once and while for a truly caffeine free option.

Also eta, decaf coffee is an option too, if you're ok with minimal caffeine.
  • @acleverusername for decent caffeine in a tea, I like Earl Grey, Irish Breakfast (tho not as exciting as it sounds lol), and English Breakfast.  I think all those black teas are lovely with a little sweetener and milk of choice,  We like coconut sugar and agave, but just a little is all it takes to round out the flavours.

@fantasyflyte You're not out yet!   hang in there :)
  • Got stuck in the box below so have to put my check in up here.
    Month/Cycle: 34/ 🤷‍♀️

    CD/DPO: 24/8dp3dt

Timing: Hopefully perfect. Frozen embryo transfer.

    Typical LP length: 13

Testing: supposed to wait until March 15 for betas  We shall see…

R/R: It is storming like crazy where I live: there’s been a lot of flooding and it’s been on the news. Some homes got washed away,  which is really sad. It has lightened up to just gray and rainy today. I’m out getting other bloodwork done and I just wanna be home in bed.

    CS/Q: N/A

@fantasyflyte Sorry for the dropping temps. It’s always disappointing to see that pattern emerge. But you’re not out yet! Glad you’re having sunny weather this week. Hopefully that helps things feel a bit more optimistic.
@inthewoods23 Yay for warmer temps! What is going on with the electrical panel?
@acleverusername Sorry about the poor sleep, hope it evens out soon. So many of us have been going through this the last week—I wonder if it’s something in the planetary alignment or something? Re: tea—have you tried Celestial Seasonings Roastaroma? That was my go-to when I stopped drinking coffee. It’s really strong & similar to coffee, without any caffeine. Then I read that we shouldn’t have chicory. So I switched to this caffeine-free chai on Amazon. It’s yummy but not nearly as strong as Roastaroma.

  • @keikilove eek! betas only a week away! We're having a couple things done for the panel - upgrade from a 150A to 200A, moved to the adjacent unfinished space because it's current location is not to code anymore (probably was 50 years ago when the house was built lol), and we're getting more breaker spaces. And possibly the most exciting... it will be properly and clearly labeled!! If you'll remember, our breaker labeled "DB" is for the power in our living as well as our doorbell - but not the foyer you have to walk through to get to the living room from our front door!? So now we'll know wtf to turn off should we need to do electrical work haha.

  • @inthewoods23 Sorry, but I laughed at the doorbell and livingroom being combined under “DB”, but the foyer not being included.😄 Sounds like this new electrical panel is gonna be most welcome!
  • @keikilove I really thought it would be but I checked the outlets and they were still live when the breaker was turned off! I honestly don't have a clue what it's tied to. Might be to the bedroom hallway and bathroom... Which I think also includes part of one of the bedrooms.

In other words... The way they wired our house is a bit of a hot mess.

  • Thanks all for the tea recommendations! I am looking for something caffeine free. @pajamstagrams
I actually don't mind decaf coffee (and have a local favorite brand) but it's still has caffeine in it, and for the purposes of this experiment, I want to try 0 caffeine. I forgot that I really like peppermint tea, which is pretty strong so I'll pick that up along with the rooibos. I might try the decaf chai as per @keikilove. @BusinessWife I love my Earl Grey and have an excellent loose leaf brand on hand. Alas, it's chock-full of caffeine.

@inthewoods23 your chart does puzzle me. Hmmmm. On the one hand, start of surge is start of surge (and you could O any time 12-72 hours later). Plus you got the temp bump right after. Confusing. Also sounds like you're making really good progress on your reno's. Congrats!

@keikilove Those poor people who've lost their homes. Is Hawaii a bit like California in that it's either really nice all the time, or there's some kind of natural disaster happening? That's how I describe CA to my family back home: a long of extremes.

    @fantasyflyte enjoy the warming weather!

  • @acleverusername don't forget chocolate has caffeine too! It actually has quite a bit if I remember correctly, maybe as much as decaf coffee or more? Good luck with your experiment! I went 100% caffeine free cold turkey in college because I was having severe migraines, and woooowww the withdrawal was horrible (including lots of migraines, ironically 😂). I'm extremely sensitive to caffeine so I get addicted really easily. I'd wean off slowly if you can, unless you usually don't have problems skipping your morning cup of coffee.

@acleverusername Actually, it’s nice here almost always, for years & years on end. Maybe once a decade or two we get a mild hurricane or tiny tsunami, very little to no damage. One island has the volcano erupting every now and then, but that’s to be expected. As far as flooding, it usually happens near waterfalls—and only rarely: it fills up waterfall areas after heavy rainfall (no houses close by those areas) and the flood flows out to the ocean. No one in this area has ever seen it flood inland like this, ever. Not in any decade that anyone can remember.
  • I agree with @pajamstagrams @acleverusername I have done it both ways and I legit thought I had the flu when I did it cold turkey Jan 2016.  It took a minute there for it to sink in it was 100% withdrawal. 😬 I would recommend switching to caffeinated tea first, then alternate caffeinated and herbal teas, and then all herbal.  Unless you are a glutton for punishment! 😂 Which if so, that's cool too.

@keikilove wow!  That's incredible!  And scary. 😬 Also, you are reminding me of my dear sweet azoo fran, @AlohaKumu although she has since relocated to the mainland.  I am trying to remember if any of your TTGP time overlapped?

@keikilove oh gosh. What island are you on? We had two 100 year floods two years apart in the Baltimore suburbs. It was awful.
@inthewoods23 we wrapped up 4 years of various reno’s last fall. Gutting a kitchen in a 1947 house. Eeeek! I totally get the excitement about a properly labeled panel! We did the radio trick, plug in an old school radio and then when it cuts you know that’s the breaker lol
@acleverusername I’ve cut caffeine a few times just to like detox. I would say headache from
48-72 hrs out and then felt fine. My thing is I still go back to drinking it eventually. Lol.
