I found out two of my coworkers have someone in their house with COVID currently. Since we are considered essential, they are still having to come to work unless they get symptoms. We have gone 8 months of working in person and not one person got sick, but now because they are determined to keep the schools open, this happens. I really don’t want to get sick 1 week before I am supposed to get the vaccine. Basically this virus sucks and I hate it. Sorry to bring it up again.

@fitzfizz I understand the need to keep essential healthcare personnel in, but it's hard to swallow that your coworkers still have to go in even if they have COVID positive cases in their household. My school district has essentially announced that we are going back to full in-person after the winter break (Jan. 4th) so we're not helping.

@fameonmain2 It is mainly just annoying to me that my main exposure is going to be because of the schools. I can accept the risk that comes with taking care of patients, but I am annoyed about the schools still being open since that is where my risk is coming from. One coworkers wife that has it is a teacher, and my other coworkers daughter that has it is in high school. The cases in the schools are insane, and yet they remain open, inexplicably.

The rules for our facility on exposures change All. The. Time. All they have to do is cite “critical staffing”. I see both sides. I hope you can get the vaccine! 

The school cases where I live now (I live in a v small town but I work in a larger town) are impressively low, even though where I work is in the orange for cases.
