  • Month/Cycle: 7/6

    CD: 12

    WAYDTGKU: charting, opks

R/R: I took a nice long walk with the dog this morning which was wonderful. It was the first time I had gotten some exercise since my pleurisy/possible COVID debacle at the beginning of the month. Not much going on this weekend, probably just going to clean and catch up on some work!

CS/Q: the random temp spike makes my chart look like monoliths that have been appearing in Utah and California 😂

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 3

    WAYDTGKU: tracking CM, prenatals

R/R: I already can't wait for this week to over, and it's not even Monday yet! I'm trying so hard to just relax but it's not working. Pretty sure my period is only lasting 3 days this cycle, which is not normal for me at all. And I spotted very slightly for 2 days while I waited for it to start. Not a great beginning. I really hope it doesn't mean this cycle is scrapped already. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to relax? Stress from work is eating me alive.

  • @fameonmain2 was there some inconsistency in your temp to make that spike? I might make notes or discard it because it’s so far out from your other temps. Also, get on your bike girl! I have been riding almost everyday and loving it.
@Aerialmrs sorry about the stress. The best ways for me to de-stress are usually exercise and a good book. Not together usually 😆 but I try to read for 30 minutes before bed rather than looking at my phone. Or I’ll take a hot bath with a glass of wine and a good book.

    Month/Cycle: 13/14

    CD: 1 🎉🙄

    WAYDTGKU: letrozole + TI

R/R: moving on to the next cycle. Called the RE today and got my CD 3 u/s scheduled for Monday and called the pharmacy to get my refills. I think I’m going to look into acupuncture. I don’t know that I will start this cycle but I will research some fertility acupuncturists and maybe start in January if this one isn’t it for us.

    CS/Q: none

@Aerialmrs weeks that you want to end before they even start are the worst! I do meditations on the Peloton app to help de-stress and do long outdoor walks. Something about the fresh air just makes me feel better.

@krash_ I have no idea what caused that temp. It was the first night I had actually gotten some solid sleep in weeks. I think I will toss it once I get closer to O. And you inspired me to get on the bike! Just did the most recent Hamilton workout.

ETA @krash_ I have a friend who swears by the fertility acupuncturist. She had been trying for a few months, went to one and got pregnant the next month. Who knows if it really did the trick but it’s worth a try!
  • @fameonmain2 be careful discarding temps. You need a reason (alcohol consumption, waking later, illness) to throw it out otherwise it can throw off your chart. I have found that my temps spike like that early in my cycle and then settle down before ovulation and I never have a difficult time confirming ovulation. If you toss an acceptable temp you could be forcing your chart to show ovulation even if you haven’t ovulated. So you could possibly assume you ovulated but your body only tried. Then it could try again within the next few days following the first failed attempt but you didn’t HIO any of those days because you forced your chart to show ovulation the prior week and you end up missing your fertile window.

There are exceptions to the rules for confirming ovulation and one is that you can toss 1 temp that is super high. You do that after you get 3 high temps and all other signs point to ovulation. So your CM dries up and you have had your normal ovulation CM pattern during your window. Out of all my years charting, I have never had to use that exception. You wouldn’t want to use this rule prior to ovulation.
  • @emeraldcity1214 Thanks for that info! I will wait to see if it merits tossing... I normally don't O until CD20-22.

  • @fameonmain2 glad you were able to enjoy a walk! the weather is supposed to be lovely here today, it's almost 60. aaaand up to a foot of snow predicted for wednesday.

@Aerialmrs do you have any hobbies you could throw yourself into? I cross stitch and sew among other crafts, and I find it can help my brain relax if I work on a project that requires a lot of attention.

@krash_ sorry about CD1 and fingers crossed your acupuncture research is moot!

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 23

    WAYDTGKU: bbt, opk, cm, cinnamon

R/R: still working through ways to get cinnamon in my diet. Found a cinnamon apple spice tea that was mostly tolerable, may try that one as an iced tea, and see if drinking with a straw helps. Realized this morning I could get cinnamon granolas and cereals and eat as cold cereal since oatmeal was a no go.

Also on a completely unrelated note, we're very excited because my sister, who just started this summer as an ICU nurse and has been living basically in her bedroom and the hospital to avoid exposure to my dad (he's high risk) is scheduled to receive her first dose of the vaccine this week! By the end of January she should be able to interact with the family again and we're all very excited.

CS/Q: was very excited for EWCM last night since we were already planning to every-other-day it starting yesterday. Might be too optimistic but hey, 2020 needs optimism.

  • @fantasyflyte Unfortunately/fortunately, my job kind of is my hobby. I do have a paint by number that I got for mother's day that I stopped without finishing, great idea! The vaccine news about your sister is very exciting! This pandemic has been so exhausting it is exciting to hear news like this : ) How much cinnamon do you need to consume to reap benefits?

@fameonmain2 It won't be too much longer before I finally have time to take walks again, so that'll be nice. Maybe Tuesday, even!

@krash_ I definitely have made a habit of falling asleep and waking up to my phone screen... I need to ditch that for sure.
  • @fantasyflyte ohhh, apple cinnamon tea is SO good. I'm glad it's at least tolerable for you :). Also, great news about your sister! What a relief that she will be vaccinated soon and that she will be able to socialize with all of you. That sounds so isolating :(

Re: the cinnamon -- do you eat yogurt? You could try to mix it into there.
  • lurking, but curious what the cinnamon helps with?

  • @Aerialmrs @emmylou78 I'm not sure the exact amount. My new gyn diagnosed me officially with PCOS and wants me to drink cinnamon tea as "my drink" daily, cutting out other coffee/tea (which i don't drink anyway) to help regulate ovulation. Since I'm finding it hard to drink cinnamon teas (still have one more to try tonight), I'm going to just try to pack cinnamon into my diet wherever possible instead. I've got several cinnamon cereals coming this week, and I remembered that cinnamon in applesauce is delicious so getting that too.
  • @fantasyflyte do homemade cinnamon rolls count?  :D
  • @Aerialmrs I hope so since that's Christmas breakfast  :D
