Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Wednesday 9/2

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

    Month/Cycle: a long-ass time

    CD: 8

WAYDTGKU: DH's SA today, measles vaccine at some point

R/R: why am I even bothering with posting here. I've got nothing to say 🤷‍♀️ this cycle doesn't matter. It's against guidelines for the vaccine but there's gonna be some attempt anyway...

CS/Q: meh, if the cycle doesn't matter I'm not going to post my chart. I am doing all the things for tracking though.

  • @inthewoods23 Sorry you are feeling “blah” about this cycle. I hope they can get you the first dose of MMR soon so that at least you can not have additional delays. If you want to fly to LA I can hook you up haha

    Month/Cycle: 2/2 AL

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: tracking BBT and OPKs in hope that we can try this month

R/R: I only have to work a half day today, so I think I’m going to start work on painting another room in my house. I have been procrastinating for a while on renovating this room, and as a result it has become the cat litter room (aka the cat shit room). Time for a renovation!

    CS/Q: Nothing interesting yet

  • @inthewoods23 I’m so sorry about this whole vaccine business. Hopefully you can get it sooner rather than later!

@fitzfizz fun!! I love house renovations. Enjoy the painting!

    Month/Cycle: 9/9

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, PNV, baby aspirin, progesterone after O

R/R: Didn’t get a chance to check in yesterday with the busyness of the first day back at work! Somehow even though I’m working remotely I was just as busy as if I were in the building haha. It’s looking like another busy workday getting ready for the school year today! Unrelated: I got a call from my RE’s office and my TSH levels are officially down to a more normal range - woohoo! Down to a 1.5 from 4.0. The plan is to obviously keep taking the levothyroxine and get my levels tested in 6 more weeks to make sure everything stays as it should be.

    CS/Q:

  • I didn’t have the mental space to post to dailies yesterday but I lurked, so I’m all up to date.

@inthewoods23 sending you hugs for your blah feelings. Hopefully being on here will make the time pass quicker. Plus you can still entertain us with your euphemisms. I hope the SA goes well. Btw; how’s the medication going?

@fitzfizz Hooray for half-days! Good luck with getting started on the cat shit room reno. I find getting started is always the hardest!

@runningoncookies that’s really great to hear re: your TSH levels. I had the same results with Levothyroxine. Did you already talk with your doctor about management once you get KUed?

    Month/Cycle: 8/8

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + IUI; also PNV and a bunch of other supplements

R/R: So I think Clomid does give me a headache but it’s been hard to tell since we’re still having fire-related air quality issues and I had been having headaches from that before starting on Clomid. Either way, it hasn’t been too bad and I’m now done Clomid. Next step is ultrasound on Sunday. 🤞🏻

My biggest rave is that I switched OBs and went in for my annual checkin/meet-and-greet yesterday and I REALLY liked her. In fact, she was the OB I originally wanted to go with (we moved from suburbs > city in March), but ended up asking my best friend about her OB and went that route instead, on super high recommendation. Well, I ended up really disliking that clinic: I never saw my friend’s OB as she was booked out 2-3 months, so only saw an NP who refused to prescribe progesterone in luteal phase, and one other doctor who reviewed my Day 3 tests which is when we discovered Hashimoto’s... and she said I needed to get an endocrinologist to manage that condition.

CS/Q: Still pretty boring but have at it.

@fitzfizz Yay for a half day! I have to say a cat shit room doesn't sound half bad. Our cat started peeing in the corner of the dining room, so not we have a cat box 5 ft from our table, ugh!

@runningoncookies that's awesome that your TSH is down!

@acleverusername medication is going well. I think it's giving me headaches but work has also been a bit stressful and overwhelming so it could be partly due to that. That reminds me that I still need to get in for my pap with my OB!

@DoubleUp8 it sure has been.... trying to make the best of what I'm given though.

  • @acleverusername We must have posted at the same time. Glad you like your new OB so much. I recently change practices, nothing was wrong with my old practice, but the practitioners don't deliver. They just had you work with hospital staff. I decided I would prefer a practice where the doctors from the practice are at the hospital for deliveries. It is so important to like your doctors.

  • @acleverusername all he had said was that they would test my TSH frequently (at least once/trimester) and adjust the levothyroxine as needed. Sorry for the headaches, but yay for being done with Clomid! I’m so glad that you like your new OB!
  • @inthewoods23 has YH not had an SA yet? Or is this another one? FX you get that vaccine quickly!
@fitzfizz Idk how our cat does it but some how every time he uses the litter box it looks like a litter tornado went through. Wet cat litter clumps all over the walls, litter down the hall. I have to clean up after him everyday because it's our main bathroom. He's lucky he's cute!
@runningoncookies YAY for your TSH going down!
@acleverusername either I missed a lot in 6 weeks or things are moving so quickly for you, probably both! Clomid and an IUI! FX for you friend!
@DoubleUp8 ugh cat peeing in the dining room  :s we have had issues with our cat peeing on the couch (we've had to get two new ones) but he is on prozac now  :D

    WAYDTGKU: should probably do something

R/R: I kind of feel dumb posting too because I'm not doing a whole lot to get KU. I was going to try to HIO EOD but I didn't feel like it last night. I will probably ovulate this weekend so I already feel out because we are going to be at my IL's for the weekend so it's almost like why even bother. I just want to talk to you guys lol

  • @inthewoods23 glad to hear the meds are working! But 👎🏻on work stress. Got a bit of that myself. Sigh.

@DoubleUp8 yep! I think we were posting at the same time. You and @fitzfizz are making it feel really guilty about my lack of exercise. Maybe I'll sign up for a virtual 5K to give me something to look forward to (I'm extremely goal oriented when it comes to exercise, so not having anything to look forward to mean I get to make plenty of excuses not to exercise). Are you a runner already? Also, 💯that was a good idea to change doctors; the TTC journey is crazy enough without having to change practitioners for the final event.

@krash_ girl, it's definitely both of those things! 🤣 I spent the last 6 weeks being poked and prodded in ways I couldn't have anticipated: so many blood tests to figure out what's up; also an HSG and pelvic MRI. After all of that, official RE diagnosis is "unexplained" because that's what they call it when they don't think there's benefit to trying to understand the exact root cause since treatment is the same. Definitely feel free to stick around and talk to us! So happy to see things have turned a corner for you and YH. How did round 2 of Whole30 go for you? I finished mine mid-August and I felt/feel great! Inflammation is way down (I can feel it... ) and we're basically living the Whole30 lifestyle now but also not feeling guilty if we - say - have goat cheese on our salad, or oats for breakfast.

@runningoncookies hmmm; the endocrinologist (cause I did end up going to see one) said she would test every 4 weeks once we get KU'ed and adjust accordingly. Not sure if that's an overkill but I leave those decisions to the professionals.

  • @krash_ so good to see you back on here! Definitely feel free to hang out and chat with us even if you’re not feeling super confident about this cycle!

@acleverusername yeah it’s definitely something that I will be asking for more clarification on the SECOND I get KU lol
  • Month/Cycle: Going with 1/1, though really we've been trying since July 2018

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: Cheap OPK strips, and then just hoping we are in the mood when the time is right

R/R: All the work rants, won't repeat them again. I feel protective of our staff and get irritated when I feel like they're being screwed over

    CS/Q: I don't do a chart...is this just for temping?

  • @runningoncookies Yay levothyroxine! I hope you feel better on it in addition to improved numbers.

@acleverusername Definitely do not let me make you feel bad about exercise! I was legitimately excited that I was able to run a full mile yesterday and even that sucked. It is amazing how quickly you lose it though, because I was running a decent amount last year.

@doubleup8 Having a cat shit room is nice in many ways, but it is also very “out of sight, out of mind” so I don’t clean it as often as I should. Since we bought a 6 bedroom house for unclear reasons, it is going to stay a cat shit room for the foreseeable future (as I have no other use for it), it is just no longer going to be a carpeted cat shit room...

@inthewoods23 GL getting the MMR today. I hope your immune system cooperates

@krash_ I too am familiar with the litter tornado haha. Also, you are definitely not the only one just needing to chat. I’m currently technically TTA but tracking and posting makes me feel like I’m doing something to further the goal.

@akoros Mostly people post a chart or ask questions about charting or whatever. But also just a good place if you have any TTC questions even if not chart related
  • @acleverusername I was on day 21 when I kicked MH out for a week after finding everything out. I decided to stick with it but mostly I just didn't have an appetite for those last 9 days. It felt good to finish it and have something to focus on but I don't think it was my best Whole30. I have since gone back to the same way we were eating before. We aren't drinking at all and MH has lost 14 lbs but I have kind of leveled off.

    Nov 2020: Letrozole + TI - BFN
    Dec 2020: Letrozole + TI - BFP!!! EDD 9/18

  • @acleverusername I was a runner in high school and I have done bouts of running on and off. Definitely haven't been running much in the past year, but I want to get back into it.

@fitzfizz no carpet will make it much easier to clean!

@krash_ yeah it stinks. The doctor says it was because her arthritis (she's 13) is starting to bug her and the stairs to the basement are getting harder. I call a bit of BS because she does all her poops in the basement (thank goodness) but maybe privacy is worth aching joints!  :D

  • @inthewoods23 that’s such a pain about the vaccine! I’m sorry:/ why did you have to have the vaccine now?

@fitzfizz hope you’re able to get some stuff done on the poop room today! 😂 I hate painting houses, hopefully this room won’t be bad!

@runningoncookies that’s awesome about your tsh! I hope your levels stay good!

@acleverusername sorry about the headaches. I hope they get better soon! That’s awesome news about your OB. Having a good doctor really does make a difference.

@krash_ aww man! Sorry you’ll be with the ILs this weekend. Maybe you guys can find a spot for a quickie at least. 😂

@akoros sorry about work, I hope it gets better soon!

    Month/Cycle: 14/15 I think?

    CD: 12

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, opks

R/R: Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been a little Mia lately! I’ve just been feeling so anxious lately, with buying a new house, covid, and ttc. I tend to push things away when I get overwhelmed. 😬 The good news is that we closed on our house yesterday! It’ll still be 6 ish weeks before it’s delivered and set up, so I hope I’m able to keep my anxiety in check until then. I went out and bought a few things today, and got our storage building ready. I’m hoping that keeping busy will help. While I’m here, I wanted to brag on dh. Last night we were both arguing about stupid stuff and put ourselves in a bad mood, but yesterday might have been O day, and he knew it. So he made a good effort to dtd, and be in a good mood, even after me heckling him. Through all of this mess, I’m so thankful for his continued efforts to do his part of ttc, even if we’re not feeling it. It’s so appreciated. 💕

    CS/Q:

  • @photographerwife Congrats on closing the deal on the house! How exciting! And good for YH!!! They CAN be taught! 😆
