WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Tracking CM

R/R: Last cycle messed with my mind. For about 24 hours from 10 dpo - 11 dpo I had some red blood but only when I wiped. Then it totally went away until I woke up today with AF on 13 dpo as expected. In the meantime I was wondering if it had been implantation bleeding so it is a bummer to see AF today. I have to make my annual gyno appointment so I might mention the random bleeding to make sure I don’t need to be concerned. I’ve never had that happen before (at least since I’ve been TTC and paying attention.) So very weird. Anyway, it’s the weekend so at least I can somewhat wallow although I do need to get some work done. I hope you all have a nice weekend too!

R/R: I'm really in no mood to get all dolled up for a wedding today. Also it's going to be 2.5 hours of driving just to get there and another 2.5 hours home. Tomorrow is probably going to be a waste of a day since we will be getting home late. For now... Just laying in bed. Maybe I'll get up at some point lol.

CS/Q: will probably be a few days before I post my chart.

@inthewoods23 I know! Why do weird things have to happen? I don’t blame you, I wouldn’t want to get dolled up for a wedding either. I hope you have fun once you get there.

@bows22 I remember naive me on like.... Cycle 4 when my boobs were REALLY hurting and I remember spending the morning telling myself "Yay you're pregnant". How wrong I was! Everything is just weird now. But I'm probably being too focused now on what I'm feeling and what DPO it is.

WAYDTGKU: OPKs (1st time), BBT, and in FW HIO EOD.

R/R: Rainy day today. Hanging at home. Maybe some house cleaning and organizing. At some point I need to organize the basement, not sure if that's today. We have plans to finish the basement ourselves over the next few years, but it means I have to get everything down there organized.

CS/Q: temps all over, woke up at 5 and then went back to bed until 8 (that's sleeping in for me) so my temp today was way off. 

When would people recommend I begin OPKs? Last cycle I O'd way late (CD22), but my cycle was 6-7 days longer than it's been on average since January. (34 days vs 27). I was thinking CD10 because if I return to a 27 day cycle O might be around CD14, but if I st have another long cycle, O might not be until CD21, which would mean peeing on things for a long time. I would really appreciate thoughts from people who have been using OPKs

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + IUI and a bunch of supplements 

R/R: we’re having 2 humans over for a BBQ tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to the social contact. I also haven’t seen her/them in person since January! So today is all about cleanup and getting ready to host. MH and I aren’t big into cleaning; we can overlook the dust bunnies pretty easily, but we get our shit together in a big way when ppl are coming over. 

Took first dose of Clomid yesterday; so far I’m not feeling any side effects though I expect it’ll take a few days to kick in. Need to get some Tylenol as I ran out yesterday owing to period cramps. 

CS/Q: nothing to see here; move along.

Ah dang! Posted at the same time @DoubleUp8: re: OPKs, since I have(had?) a variable ovulation, I would start in Day 10, and then - because I also have rapid surge of LH - go to 2x daily at Day 14. But yeah, there’s no avoiding peeing on sticks for many days on end. 🙁

@DoubleUp8 I start on CD10 and test once a day until it starts getting darker, then I move to twice a day. Twice a day typically starts around CD15 for me (I O around CD16-19). I use the Pregmate OPKs. I get a box of 50 for around $15 on Amazon.

@inthewoods23 okay! From all of the reading I have done, that was kind of what I had planned. It really helps to hear from someone else who has done it before that I am on the right track. I will move to twice a day as soon as things start to get darker since I have no idea if I have a fast surge or not.

@DoubleUp8 I've also found using the Premom app helpful with interpreting the lines. Sometimes I can't really tell that it has started getting slightly darker, but the app can tell. I typically have positive OPKs for 24-36 hours but I can go from a very light line in the morning to a nearly positive or true positive in the evening. Just to give you an idea of how my surge goes! I used to see a gradual darkening of the test line but now the surge occurs kind of suddenly but stays for a little while.

@DoubleUp8 Good luck w the cleaning! Re: OPKs, I start around CD8 or 9 so I never miss the surge.  I O around CD10-13 so it’s important I start early not to miss it. Like IntheWoods, I use Pregmate brand off Amazon: 100 OPKs & 50 HPTs for $24.

R/R: Got my BW & it’s a GO! Ready to start these stims already!! Up early just waiting to call RE’s office to confirm the meds schedule they gave me earlier this month. That seems like it was 6 months ago...

CS/Q: I guess I don’t really go here now. Won’t be charting before ER. Does anyone mind if I hang for awhile?

@keikilove yes!! So glad the ER is a go this time! I think I stayed in the dailies for my ER. Helps count down the days! I will say, the few times I've put on some eyeliner and mascara it has felt really nice to look put together. I just saw a message on the FB event that it's BYOB so either people will be extra wild or things will be really tame.

@keikilove this might be shaping up to be just as ridiculous as DH's friend's small wedding in which we helped pack up all the tables, chairs, and decor! I just love that stuff is being mentioned day of. I don't even know what we're having for dinner so hope it's good (and not buffet! 😳)

@inthewoods23 I downloaded the Premom app after reading the OPK thread at the top of the board. I think it is going to be really helpful in interpreting my results.

@keikilove so excited for you that the egg retrieval is a go. I think you should hang out with us for sure. Thanks for the OPK info!

@inthewoods23 I have to say, I've never been to a BYOB wedding; also... asking for (telling to?) help on day of is ... disappointing. 

@keikilove what are your doses? So exciting that it's finally happening!!! 

@DoubleUp8 +1 to what @inthewoods23 re: my OPKs not becoming darker until surge/peak. I almost missed my peak a few times because I thought "oh, it's still super low... don't need to test 2x a day" but I was WRONG. And, you ovulate 24-48 hours after you start to surge, so timing is crucial.

@DoubleUp8 I think CD 10 is a good start. Do you usually see EWCM? You could try switching to twice a day when your CM starts to change if so

@acleverusername good actually! For it being thrown together, it was quite well done! My aunt was telling me how they lost so much in deposits from cancelling their original plans. They were originally going to get married in September and that changed to doing something at the courthouse with a reception next year or something but apparently they were only allowing one other person besides the bride and groom in to the courthouse! They couldn't even have just immediate family. Then they decided fuck it, we want a real wedding and so they had something small. And as I thought, not a whole lot of dancing and it was really tame. The music was played through Spotify. I don't think everyone stayed that late. We left around 9:30 or so and I'm guessing people left by 10, maybe 10:30.

Also they did their own vows and I'm like FINALLY. The last couple weddings I've been to have all had those generic ones without being truly personal so it was nice to hear.

Eta - oh, and no one really wore masks so we'll see how things go for the next 2 weeks 😆

@bows22 I do usually see EWCM, but it come pretty quickly, none one day and a ton the next, so I will probably over test this time around since my last cycle was so long compared to the previous 7 cycles. I'm sure I will be making use of the OPKs thread for help with and Premom app questions I have.

@DoubleUp8 do you check your CM otherwise? I found that I could tell my surge was approaching by the changes in it. It depends on how your check for CM though; I do/did a sweep of my cervix. Some ppl just look at whatever is on TP or underwear.

@acleverusername yes, I do a CM and CP check, usually start once AF spotting has finished. Today was my first day. I do a sweep for CM.

@DoubleUp8 great! Then you’ll definitely start to see changes to your CM as you get closer to O. It took me a couple of cycles to learn the progression; I had to google images and then also took photos. Lol. My iPhone photo album is something else...
