WAYDTGKU: redo baseline testing, HIO, supplements (adding CoQ10 for myself now), GF and DF diet, antidepressants ha

R/R:  got my baseline scheduled for tomorrow. Having been using cups for the last few months I was like wait... I might need to be wearing a pad if I'm getting a US (I can't remember if they're going to take a look). Good thing I still have some, but they might be overnight size only 🙈

@inthewoods23 good luck with your Baseline tests tomorrow; I hope DH’s SA will have improved! Also, sounds like you’re already starting to feel better with your meds so I feel like thinks are lining up well for you.

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + IUI this cycle; plus all the supplements (pnv, ubiquinol, Vitamin D3, DHEA, myo-inositol/d-chirp-inositol, Omega3, melatonin)

R/R: rave — AF finally showed her face! Woot! That means I get to start Clomid tomorrow. I seriously was starting to think that I’d need to take Provera, but when I woke up this morning, bbt had finally broken through the coverline and a trip to the bathroom confirmed AF’s arrival. On the other hand... cramps. 😩

Another rave is that I was feeling like a$$ for the past few days, hadn’t been sleeping well because we couldn’t open our windows due to smoke from forest fires. So I went to sleep at 8:45 last night and slept through the whole night. I feel so wonderfully rested. 😌 

Small rant — I had 2 camping reservations for Sep and Oct, but one of them is in a park that was majorly affected by fires so it was cancelled. And then I got a notification that another park is being closed for public safety so my other reservation was canceled too. 🙁

WAYDTGKU: OPKs (1st time), BBT, and plans to HIO EOD

R/R: AF came back. She took 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. off and then came back. Definitely hoping AF tapers off today and tomorrow my cycle goes more normally. DH's grandfather has takes another down turn. They moved him to the rehab facility, where he is physically getting stronger, but mentally he is deteriorating not being at home in his routine and with family. He doesn't understand why he is in the facility and just wants to go home. He is refusing to do the rehab exercises (which he needs to do to get home) and was close to getting kicked out of the place last night. DH's grandmother had a panic attack and broke sobbing about the whole situation and trying to get him to do the rehab. If he doesn't do the rehab, he will never get back home and will probably continue to go down hill mentally. Between the roller coaster of DH's grandfather's health and the timing of Labor day. I am a bit concerned about this cycle. I feel really selfish saying that, but at our age, every cycle counts and DH is worried about the fact he turns 39 in the spring. 

CS/Q: temps all over the place, hoping it's due to AF.

@acleverusername yay for AF! Sometimes that extra long sleep really helps. I should probably do that some days but still end up going to bed at 10:30 lol. That really sucks that your reservations got cancelled! I think I read this morning that the area that has been burned by these fires is like, the size of metropolitan NYC or something?? I can't remember, it just sounded massive.

@DoubleUp8 ugh, I'm so sorry the situation with YH's grandfather is not going well. I really hope he pulls through!

@acleverusername yay for AF! (always weird writing that) sorry about your camping trip though.  are there any other options you can look into?

@doubleup8 so sorry for what you and YH are going through with family right now.  really tough when the mental and physical dont line up and they are confused or frustrated.  thinking of you

R/R: nothing much going on.  ive been working out a lot and eating well this week so i feel good about that! already seeing a difference in my ab area---they want to return!!

CS/Q: my temps are wacky because i havent been temping consistently, but not stressing it!

@inthewoods23 gl with the baseline! will they do the ultrasound even with AF? 😬That seems like itll be real awkward.. 

@acleverusername Thats a bummer about the fires and your reservations, hopefully theyll be able to get the fires under control before they do much more damage. I really hate that cali has had to deal with these fires for so long. Hope this cycle goes well! 

@DoubleUp8 im sorry about YHs grandpa. That has to be extremely difficult for everyone involved. I cant imagine how his grandma must be feeling about all of this. It sounds like they have a strong support system though.

WAYDTGKU: bbt, opks, pnv, coq10, alpha lipoic acid ( i need to get back to taking these regularly, i forget sometimes) 

R/R: Things are still going good here. My ob finally got back with my last week about the tsh and t-4 results from my pcp. She asked me about my cycles, and had me come in the re-test tsh, and t-4, and to also test my testosterone. The tsh went down, which im glad for, because it was trending high, but came back at a good 1.2 or something. I was beginning to be concerned about my hormone levels. But the testerone and everything came back within normal levels! So were just riding out the waiting game again now. Besides that, ive knocked out my entire queue of photos, started decluttering for our move, and im starting to shop for the new house. 😏Were located in the lower central part of Arkansas and expected to get quite a bit of bad weather from laura, (landing as a tropical storm for us) later today. Im always a nervous wreck during storms, because weve lost a ton of trees on our property because of bad weather, and we dont have a storm shelter. This will be the first time in my life, that i can remember having any significant weather because of a hurricane. So ill be on high alert all day. Thinking and praying for any of you in the path!

CS/Q: I havent started temping yet this cycle. 😬

@photographerwife yes, they always do an US as part of the baseline testing. Checking to make sure there are no cysts, etc. I think they're going to do a follicle count. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you! Hurricanes are why I would never want to live along the coast in the south. I'll just stick with the tornadoes... even though those can be nasty too! Our siren rarely goes off so I can deal with it.

@inthewoods23 I hear you on living near the coast! We dont, so its a suprise to have to worry about! We get plenty of bad weather as is. I hope the ultrasound goes well!

@photographerwife GL with the storm!  i saw it was downgrading upon landfall so fx its not too sever for you.  always makes me nervous.  and great news about your horomones all being in check, however being back in the waiting game sucks, i hear ya!

@inthewoods23 the total acreage already burned is ridiculous and the fires are still ~25% contained. And it's not even the "usual fire season" yet; it can only get worse. The past 2 years, fires had been in October/November timeframe. Who knows what's to come? Where in TX are you? Do you really prefer tornadoes over hurricanes? Is that because they're less frequent only? Damage-wise, I feel like tornadoes do a lot more. Anyway, in CA we have so many natural disasters to choose from: fires, earthquakes, floods...

@DoubleUp8 I am sorry sorry about YH's grandfather; how difficult for all the family. I missed it because I hadn't been lurking in WTO... what happened to him? 

@asf0613 your update made me feel really bad about the amount of sitting on my ass I've been doing. Good for you though! Your healthy habits + taking-it-easy attitude can only lead to great things! FX. I also feel really odd whenever I celebrate the arrival of AF. Especially today's she's been kicking my arse with cramps. Currently on my 2nd dose of Tylenol. As for camping, not sure if it's the same in NJ, but here in CA, you have to be up at 7am 6 month beforehand to reserve a camping spot, which is when I booked these ones. It's alright though... I was starting to worry that it might overlap with a potential IUI. Everything in the next several months will be fertility-treatment based, so I'm not making any plans too far out. 

@photographerwife so exciting about a new house! Are you staying put in Arkansas? I hope the tropical storm doesn't do too much damage; it's incredible how far inland she's gone.

@acleverusername Wasn't Australia also on fire earlier this year? I'm up in WI. Definitely not tornado alley, you won't ever catch me living there lol. I don't like hurricanes because they're a given every year. Tornadoes don't come with every thunderstorm, you know? Much less frequent, yeah. Maybe with my anxiety under control I won't care either way with the weather.

@inthewoods23 don't know what I thought you were in TX. 🤦🏼‍♀️WI sounds heavenly weather wise... except for the cold maybe. I ran away from Canada for that exact reason. And look what I have now... fires, earthquakes, and flood. But it's warmer... Is it worth it? Not sure yet. (I mean... that's not the ONLY reason I left Canada).

@acleverusername haha yeah we definitely get all 4 seasons. We've been in the upper 80s and low 90s lately and winter time we usually have a couple days in the teens. And 2 winters ago was the polar vortex so it was like -10 one day and -20 for a high another that week 🥶🥶 we laugh when my brother talks about how people act in AZ when it gets "cold" in the winter with highs in the 60s 😆 that's a gorgeous fall/spring day to us!

@acleverusername It's been a saga I will try to keep it short. I am using bullet points so this doesn't end up being an unreadable giant paragraph:

• About 2-3 weeks ago we found out DH's 89 year old grandfather had a heart issue he found out about before COVID but didn't tell anyone about. It is unclear if he didn't understood what the doctor said (he is really hard of hearing) or if he was hiding it. Surgery was not recommended because of his age and frailty. So the family was trying to decide what to do and my MIL was made a medical representative so she could be privy to all of his medical info from now on. 
• On 8/17, DH's grandfather was coming up the back porch steps from the mailbox and either fell or his femur just shattered. He couldn't get up and DH's grandmother was napping and didn't know he hadn't come back. A passerby heard his cries for help, entered their home to wake DH's grandmother, and called 911.
• After hours of lying in pain, he made it to the hospital where they said it would be inhumane to not operate on the severe break. It was 50/50 is he would survive the surgery. He then got bumped on the list due to being in a tiny rural hospital and didn't get the surgery for 2 days. (This is it's own story and family drama)
• He was very confused in the hospital about why he was there, wanting to go home, and wanting to see his family. 1 person could visit a day during limited hours due to COVID. DH could not travel to see him because we are in a different state. He was getting angry and trying to pull out his IV and catheter. 
• Against all odds he has made it this far and has a lot of new rods/pins/screws in his leg. He was moved to a rehab facility earlier this week. He continued to be confused and was refusing to do the rehab, saying he just wanted to go home. Visitors are much more restricted at the rehab place (1 person, once a week, for 1 hour). Mentally he was having a really hard time and seemed to be in a pretty steep decline. The rehab place was threatening to kick him out and my ILs had to drive DH's grandmother (88 y/o) and hour to the rehab place so they could plead with the place to keep him. 
• If he does not do the rehab, there is no possibility of him ever being able to return home, and the family feels he will continue to mentally deteriorate being separated from DH's grandmother. They have been married over 70 years. 
• The rehab place let him stay. He talked to DH's grandmother yesterday evening and said it had been a good day. We are hoping some of the mental confusion is just getting over the affect of the anesthesia. I guess in older people it can hang around for days. Hopefully, getting into a routine at this new place will help him.
• DH and his grandfather are super close. DH's is the oldest grandkid, but they just have this extra special bond. This has been really hard on DH and made harder because he cannot go and see him because of COVID. 

Phew! I think that should get you up to speed. Sorry there was so much!

Oh wow @DoubleUp8 - that is quite a lot for everyone to deal with. Hopefully him having a good day yesterday is a sign of better things to come. 🤞🏻
