6 week old eating every 2 hours and gassy. Help!

Hello fellow mama’s! I’m a new mom and my son is 6 weeks old. He has been eating 4 oz every 2 hours max during the day and then seems to be uncomfortable and gassy. I went to the pediatrician last week and she said I need to get him on a 3 hr feeding schedule eating 4oz max every 3 hours. She said it will be tough but I have to stretch him to 3 hours.  Well I can’t get him to go past 2 hours without him screaming for the bottle. And then sometimes an hour later he’s wanting more. On top of it, he’s super gassy and seems to be colicky. Has anyone experienced this and can help me?
