TWW Monday 12/30

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

    Month/Cycle: 10/10

    CD/DPO: 25/9

    Timing: -2, O

    Typical LP length: 14

    Testing: See below.

R/R: I know it’s still very early, but usually by now I’d have taken a test. I had a small victory today by not testing and not temping. I feel like both of those things just make me insane during the TWW, especially the last few days. On the other hand, I feel like I’m just delaying the inevitable. I guess the question is whether I want to be disappointed all at once or spread the disappointment out over several days lol. I will, however, test tomorrow, because if it’s negative, I shall drink. 🥂

CS/Q: Here’s up until yesterday. Really considering not temping at all during the last week of the TWW anymore.

@ssbl - Good for you for holding out this morning! I'm debating testing early this cycle, because getting the call that my IVF cycle failed while at work last time was way too hard.

    Month/Cycle:  2/2

    CD/DPO:  18/either 2 or 3

Timing: Pretty good! We BD on CD14 (PM) so if I'm 3dpo it's perfect, and 2dpo still good.

Typical LP length: Not sure yet, I think around 12.

Testing: I am going out of town on CD25 (potentially 9 or 10dpo). I may test the morning I leave and bring some tests with me for the week!

CS/Q: This month I did BBT charting as well as OPKs and CM tracking.  My BBT is all OVER the place. I was traveling a lot for work and the holidays, so lots of time zone changes and bad sleep. Also lots of drinking and late nights - temps were up and down by as much as .8 from day to day.  My OPK reached positive on CD14 and BLAZING on CD15 mid-morning, plus watery CM from CD13-15, so I'm just chucking the temps and going with CD15/16 as my O day.  Thoughts?

@feather_heather I'm so sorry, friend. Keeping you all in my thoughts.

Also @knottie0511996ad637bdd3 Welcome! Have you changed your username yet? If so, try logging out and logging back in again to force the change to update. I would definitely use the OPKs as a guide, so CD15/16 is probably accurate.

    @krystrist2014 @mvt2003 Thank you
@inthewoods23 It's my grandfather (my mom's dad). He's been sick with cancer for a few months, but he took a turn for the worse about a week ago and now we've been told he won't be going home. It's hard, but I don't want him to be in pain anymore.

    Month/Cycle: 20/14/4 AL#2 Officially hit month 20 of trying on 12/26. 😫

    CD/DPO: 22/5

    Timing: Good.

    Typical LP length: 14-16

Testing: January 9th or 10th so I can stop progesterone if necessary.

R/R: Sorry I was MIA most of last week, I still lurked...but it was nice spending time with family and being totally present!! We had a really good Christmas, we got back home from our final celebration yesterday! We don’t go back to work until Thursday (which I am so excited about) and this has been my view this morning...

CS/Q: None. I stopped temping at 3DPO again after I started progesterone.

@ssbl yay for small victories!! Fingers crossed so hard for you tomorrow! I have definitely enjoyed the freedom of not temping in the TWW...it doesn’t change anything one way or another, so it’s nice to not feed the crazy as much by over-analyzing temps!

@feather_heather so glad your transfer went well!  I have everything crossed that this cycle is it for you!! So sorry to hear about your Papa and that it made Christmas Day so tough! Thoughts and prayers for you and your family! 💜

@knottie0511996ad637bdd3 welcome! I hope your stay here is short & sweet!

@feather_heather oops my mistake! We lost my mom's mom to cancer March 2018. It was pancreatic cancer and she had only been diagnosed with it a few months prior (like January I think). So tough.

@ssbl first off thanks for the lurk in WTO. I didn’t want to give up on temps my first month, but my other signs seemed pretty good, I just needed the push to come over here! And well done abstaining from testing, it can be so hard!

@feather_heather I’m so sorry about your grandfather, I hope you can find some comfort in this difficult time. But I am so glad to hear your transfer went smoothly!

@dontcallmeshirley1 welcome! I’m in almost the same boat as your, a number of extenuating factors for my BBT including illness, all other signs point to O on cycle day 15/16 (which is my norm) but my temps are dropping instead of rising 🤷🏼‍♀️

@bluetickgal I’m sorry about month 20, but so glad you had a nice present holiday! Can I ask you a progesterone question? How late is too late in a cycle to start? I have a feeling it may be recommended for me, but my REI appointment isn’t until what I’m estimating is 6dpo...

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

CD/DPO: 18/ 2 I think, but if my temps aren’t just messed up for illness/travel maybe I had an anovulatory cycle?

Timing: Pretty good. I didn’t feel up to it on O-1 because that’s when I was the sickest, but otherwise good

    Typical LP length: 11-14

Testing: Not any time soon. I do have my first REI appointment coming up. I almost feel like I snuck in since I’m under 35 and only trying 5 months, but ***TW*** I’ve had two losses and want to make sure if there’s anything we can do we start doing it before waiting for more losses/time.

R/R: I didn’t get called into work this weekend despite being on call, which I already amazing since I felt like death. It turns out there was a day they probably should have called me, but my coworker knew I was sick and tried to find a work around so I didn’t have to come. After the last few weeks of bad coworker stories, it felt good to have someone trying to help me out

    CS/Q:

Temps are a mess. But OPK looks pretty good (I test many times a day around O so I went from negative to positive to peak all over the course of CD15, and by morning of CD16 I was coming down and negative by evening). And the CM went from copious to nothing pretty abruptly, BUT that could be because I gave in and took a dose of cold medicine...

@notagoodpatient thanks lady! The first cycle I took progesterone, I had some major confusion on when  O happened and started it on 5DPO. I had called my RE and they said it’s better to start it later than too early (it can mess with O happening if it’s too early), so I don’t think 6DPO would be too late. I’m glad your co-worker was looking out for you and you didn’t have to go into work while sick! I’d say being sick affected your temps...it seems like you most likely O’d based on your other signs.

@feather_heather Glad the transfer went well, but so sorry about your papa.  <3 I understand you wanting to test early so you can get an answer, good or bad, in private rather than when you're at work.

@dontcallmeshirley1 Welcome! I think you're right in pegging CD 15 or 16 as your O.

    @bluetickgal Your view looks great!

@notagoodpatient I definitely don't think you should give up on temping, but it's good to have OPKs in your pocket to confirm when the temps are wonky. Good luck at your REI appointment! I hope you get some clarity.
