What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.):
Hi all! I’m Josie, 26, and my hubby is 28. This last cycle was our first time TTC. My husband and I are currently on a Whole30 eating plan for 3 months to lose weight and get healthy to improve our chances.
I’ve been tracking my BBT and it’s been so helpful, as I ovulated way late this month.
This last week I swear I had implantation cramps and symptoms (even heightened smell) but I got my period Friday, so no luck yet! I’m guessing I’ll have a bit of trouble conceiving as my mom had trouble herself. I refuse to feel discouraged because I know it could take a while.
As for pets, we have two wonderful cats we love very much.
How many months have you been TTC?: 2 months, one cycle
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: PNV, quitting smoking, CM, charting. Will start temping next cycle
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Hello! My name is duck_duck_goose, and I am married to a turkey. Seriously, the dude is a riot. Totally goofy. We have been married for 5 years now and together for 11. He’s pretty cool. We have 2 boys who are sassy little meatballs and they come by it honestly. I was kinda on the bump with both of them, but I tended to lurk. My goal this time around is to get out of my shell some because you al seem like pretty awesome ladies. I am a veterinary technician, and also a self proclaimed dog snob. I love dogs. I own 3, a big, dumb lab who tolerates me at best and loves my husband. I also have a cane corso who uses his only 2 brain cells to think about food and the best humping opportunities. Lastly, my Rottweiler, who is beautiful, brilliant and my canine pride and joy. 😅 I’m excited to be here! I have been lurking for a few months while we geared up to take the plunge and you are all pretty great.
Hi everyone! AF arrived this morning, so I'm trying to replace the sads with excitement about pulling the trigger and joining this community.
Ages (you and SO): Both 32 (so weird I now have to think about that)
How many months have you been TTC?: Just under 5 months; we start cycle 6 today
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Something slightly different each cycle - PNVs (always), tracking CM, sometimes OPKs and/or temping, but I haven't actually turned an OPK or seen a clear temp shift the cycles I've tried, which is discouraging. I worry about being anovulatory, but periods are pretty regular so...I dunno. I still can't figure it out.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I'm a lawyer, and MH works in the nonprofit world. Our son is ~18 months, and was conceived on the BOTB board, back when that was more "TTGP light" than it is today. We had the best BMB that's still going strong on facebook with amazingly little drama, and so I have a very soft spot for all things the Bump. Anyway - we have one pup and are actually trying really hard to get back into our hobby groove. I love cycling workouts and TV and learning languages, and recently launched a book club that I hope will take off!
Hi, I'm Asha. I'm 23 and my husband is 45. We're trying for our third (and last) child. We started the planning process back in August and I have my pre-conception appointment in two weeks. We have to wait until late January/early February to officially start TTC because of some unfortunate circumstances I won't get into here, but I have started BBT charting and taking prenatal vitamins already. I've been lurking TTGP/TTC boards for a bit and it breaks my heart that I have to wait but I'm very excited to start my journey for my third. I'm a graduate student getting my masters in clinical mental health counseling. My clinical research focus is trauma informed and LGBT counseling. I'm looking forward to this journey with y'all and wish you the best!
We’ve been actively trying for 4 months/5 cycles. We wanted to start in June but had to wait because of some stressful issues (that ended up being mostly erroneous) with some of my prenatal labs. But it unfortunately made me feel a little more rushed about the process (I felt like we “lost time”) and it sort of made a fun process more stressful for my husband
I’m tracking CM and using OPKs. I want to track BBT but I work night shift and I’ve heard that makes it less accurate. Trying for at least EOD BD for the week and everyday for O-3 to O. Also taking PNV.
We have a great dog who we think would make the best big brother!
I’ve been eating very low carb to lose weight to prepare for TTC (I’m down about 80lbs in 18 months), and now I’m trying to figure out if it’s helping or hurting... I’ve been upping my carbs a little right around O, who knows if it helps anything but probably can’t hurt!
How many months have you been TTC?: We have been trying for 3 months. I wanted to start trying earlier, but we waited for certain situations to resolve themselves prior to trying to get pregnant.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I have been using OPKs and tracking CM. We try every other day during the week leading up to ovulation and once after ovulation just in case I misjudged the timing.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I originally thought that I was going to be one and done. DS is 2 years old, and I want him to have a sibling. I work at a large hospital, so I see pregnant women and newborns frequently which has been difficult since I really want to get pregnant. I have decided to channel my stress into knitting, so I learned how to knit earlier this year. I have already knitted a couple of baby blankets and several hats.
Just wanted to say hi to all of you! Usually this thread has a bit more interaction but we’ve had a pretty quiet couple of weeks in TTGP. I hope you all do feel comfortable enough to jump into the daily threads and get to know others that way. Hope your stays here are short & sweet!
