What do you deserve an award for today? What are you celebrating?
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Yesterday as two students left my classroom after annoying the crap out of me, I smiled and waved as opposed to using a less polite hand gesture. Also, I remembered to take my vitamins this morning. 🎉
I got 4th in my division for my 2 mile race! And 17th for the 5 miler! This despite majorly dropping off my running routine. I am feeling motivated as a result and I went for a 4.5 mile run yesterday. Hoping to keep the momentum going today 💗
I finished the first draft of my capstone paper on Sunday! What's funny is that I was pluggin' & chuggin' along for about 5 hours when I got to a point where I was like, "I should probably take a break." When I scrolled back through it, I realized I had covered everything that I needed, so all that's left to do is double-check some of the laws I included in my lit review and beef up the discussion portion (need 1-2 more pages) before I revise & edit it for submission on Nov. 13th. It feels so good to be ahead of the game on this. I was so stressed, because I lost a lot of momentum due to *TW* my MMC on Oct 11th, which put me out of commission for a while *End TW*.
Now, if I can just keep this momentum up so I can knock out the PowerPoint presentation part of my capstone, then I'll be golden. That's not due until the first week of December, though, so I've got time.
@ssbl That probably gutted them more than any other hand gesture would have. Never let them see they got to you! What grade do you teach?
@tyrion_ Well done!! That is seriously impressive!
Not a huge win for me morally, but pretty good. A woman cut me off in the parking lot last night and I did not swear at her or honk. I also left early for work today to make sure I was to the office to greet our early morning client.
@ssbl always a plus to remember the vitamins. Small wins haha
@tyrion_ congrats on your placements! That's fantastic!
@ttcbabyodo sounds like the best feeling! It's so rewarding to finally get yourself to take a break only to realize "oh shit I'm basically done with this except for this 1 little thing".
@meri-mac my usual non swearing go-to is "dude what are you doing??" usually accompanied with hand motions 😆 whatever shows we can keep our road rage in check right?
I'm just proud my ovaries finally woke up and appear to have ovulated on Friday. Even though FF refuses to give me CHs. Now I have an idea of when to expect AF yay!

@meri-mac I teach high school kids, who are generally fantastic, but yesterday these two just pissed me off so much. You and I both took the high road with our wins 🙃

I lost one of my AirPods yesterday. Ordered the new fancy ones. Then, of course, found the errant AirPod (under my car) after work. Despite the fact I was secretly excited to have an excuse to buy the new ones, I canceled the order. I am financially responsible! I am a grown up!

@ssbl Congrats- a huge feat! High schoolers can be so amazing and can also be such butt heads sometimes.
@emeraldduchess Impressive! I'd never heard it pronounced the non-punny way until a high school student production and somehow that drew even more attention to it
~borrowing @emeraldduchess 's language~ Today I found out that one of my coworkers who has been driving me up the wall and through the roof on the daily has actually been the thorn in MANY-a-people's sides and they can't stand working with him and try to avoid him. I'm calling my trophy "I'm-not-the-problem-in-this-situation!" and raising a glass in mutual disgust.

On a similar note, I was able to keep a straight face while my students had a heated debate over the correct pronunciation of "Uranus".
