Re: Monday B*tch Fest

  • I’m in Sweden for work this week, and my overnight flight to get here was bumpy as heck, so no sleep + jet lag + pregnancy fatigue means this whole week is just going to be a b*tch fest for me!
  • It's muggy as hell here which is gross. My sense of smell isn't helping. I can even smell myself, which is disheartening since I did shower this morning. WTF? I hope no one else can smell me. 😬
  • Loading the player...
  • @ruby696 I have smelled myself more than once in the last week too! So gross. I don’t remember that happening ever before.

Im also over the heat. It’s supposed to be fall already! Plus wearing a hoodie sounds so much better than a T-shirt or tank top right now.
  • @JStill0603 I don't remember being able to smell myself before either. I'll probably just hide in my office today in case I'm emitting super gross hormonal BO. 🤢 I'd also live to be in hoodies and baggie sweaters. The pregnancy bloat is no joke.
  • No way @JStill0603 Summer forever!

I'm sick of hearing people complain at work. Its anonymous , through the grapevine complaints, but my board is sending  me emails about it. If the person complaining  doesn't tell me about it, I cannot fix their issue.
  • I got a great job offer somewhere else and had to turn it down because they do not offer health insurance and I could not find affordable insurance through the marketplace  :s
  • @pirateduck that sucks! I hate adulting sometimes! I have high deductible ins this year since we didn’t really plan this pregnancy. Thank goodness I can change it in Nov!
  • @JStill0603 I don't remember the last time I was even offered a plan without a high deductible!
  • I'm also hoping for better options come November!
  • and I just received a photo of vomit in my email at work today, totally unnecessary!
  • +1 for being over the heat. I went with DH to an Oktoberfest event and it was close to 100 out. Please hurry up and get here Fall!
  • The annoying laugh of my co-worker. It's killing me today.
  • The fast food taco place DH and I went to for lunch (on my request) messed up my order. It shouldn’t be a big deal but I was craving that specific delicious meal.
  • I was feeling sick so I was rushing through grocery shopping this morning and forgot so. many. things. So now I get to go back tomorrow  :s

I still don't have a doctor's appointment or ultrasound scheduled.  Today is week 7, day 1.  I called the office today and they connected me to another number that keeps going to voicemail.  I'm honestly not sure what to do.  I can't believe they would treat someone like this.  I was diligent and called the office the moment I found out I was pregnant (week 4 day 5).  I'm concerned, just not sure how concerned to be.

****TW**** (and TMI) The only thing keeping me calm is that I have no more signs of spotting and my discharge is back to white/pale yellow like before.  I have my fingers crossed that it's a good sign.
  • I had to leave campus early today because I had an appt with a pulmonologist because last april I had a ct scan that showed I have signs of emphysema... I've never smoked or been around 2nd hand smoke... the dr asked why i was just now coming in to see him for this.... it's because since I have medicaid I couldn't get in any sooner... I tried to get in in april, but the earliest they would give me was today. Since I'm pregnant, he cant do any tests except a breathing test, sleep study, and blood work, but he would do a ct or xray if I wasn't pregnant.. (had they scheduled me an appt in a reasonable amount of time, I could already have answers about why my lungs look like I've been a smoker)
Then, I get home and discover my husband was having a seizure. So we got in the car and I came right back to the hospital to bring him to the ER.
  • My thing to b*tch about seems so trivial now compared to @mrswifeytoad2 :( That whole situation sounds rotten

My thing is that apparently my brother in law already knew I was pregnant because three weeks ago he interpreted my ample fluffiness as a baby belly starting. Excuse me a**face, but I have four children and it's not your place to "know" anything about why my body looks the way it does. I was like 10 minutes pregnant at that point so it was purely coincidence that his assumption was actually correct, because 5th baby or not, I'm STILL just bloated.
  • wow, @mrswifeytoad2 -- that is really awful! Is your husband ok?

I'm just tired. so incredibly tired. I had a couple people at work ask me if I was sick today because I could barely keep my eyes open.

I'm very sorry.   I hope everything is ok with your husband.
  • @mrswifeytoad2 so sorry for your day. Hope your H is recovering well.
  • @mrswifeytoad I hope your husband is OK . And that totally sticks you had to wait so long to get an appointment!

My current bitch is my 16 month old who I still nurse to sleep has decided kicking me in the throat repeatedly is ok to do while nursing this week. Last night she went to bed in a fit because I refused to nurse her after getting kicked and it's just terrible. I have a cold and cannot "sing" her to sleep so the boobs have to work... Please work soon boobs
  • @mrswifeytoad2 I’m so sorry. That is a terrible day. I hope YH is better.

@pirateduck what?! Why?! Why would someone email you a picture of vomit??

Mine is long and trivial. But it’s mine. So my MIL wanted to do family pictures when we visited in June and it was such a huge ordeal about the ridiculous crazy outfits she wanted and a total PITA. She always complains that we do pictures with my family “all the time”—we’ve paid a professional photographer once for my oldest’s first Christmas to do family pictures on the farm for my mom and dad as their present and we had an amateur photographer take them for us in June because my parents haven’t had any pictures of all of us in four years. In reality when we visit we have a tripod and take pictures in front of one of the old buildings on the farm. Ourselves. With as many of my siblings ((i have three)) who are available. Anyway. They take pictures with a cell phone in SIL’s living room, usually at night and wonder why i don’t hang that on my wall. Anyway, fast forward and we just got the photos back from their “photographer” friend... 🤦🏻‍♀️ Guys I paid $175 for my half of these pictures and it is either laugh or cry. He literally took the worst angles, had the exposure too high and we look like we are shiny and glowing. He took 8 family photos where he told me sit on the ground and I’m holding my unhappy 4 year old who is a wet limp noodle because MIL bought him a shirt and said he had to wear it and he hated it—he didn’t mention that my crotch is fully visible in all of them. Omg.

    Anyway. Laugh. Or cry.
  • Omg @mdfarmchick laugh and cry! And refuse to put them up in your house!
  • @ruby696 that’s probably the one MIL will do as a canvas in her house. 😣
  • Ugh @mdfarmchick, that would be such a MIL thing to do. If she does, I would gift her a family picture for Christmas where you're the only one who looks good. And make sure you take it at your parents house 😂

This is so something that my petty ass would do.
    Me: 37 / DH: 41
Due with baby #2: Feb 2022

  • @mdfarmchick I work at a hotel and they wanted to charge a guest for carpet cleaning or something because of the vomit, but seriously did not have to send an all users email with photos!
  • This is small in the scheme of things but it's big in my mind right now - I start a brand new job in 40 minutes and I am FREAKING OUT. Like, borderline panic mode over here. I don't know why, my working interview went find and I liked everyone I met there and plenty of my old coworkers knew people who work at this place and had nothing but good things to say.

Ugh, Please let it go well...
  • I know it’s Tuesday..but this morning we found out at work that we are switching to Kaiser insurance starting Jan 1. Meaning I will be forced to change doctors at that point since Kaiser is a closed network. Annoyed is an understatement!!!

@chewie5990 that is a bummer to have to switch in the middle of pregnancy. On the plus side, I've had very good experiences with Kaiser. The whole system is really easy to use, if slightly impersonal.

I had no b*tchfests yesterday, but I have two today:

    1) I asked H to ask his parents if they would watch DD tonight while we're at marching band practice. He pushed back because my SIL *might* go into labor today (her due date was yesterday, I talked to her, nothing is happening) and my ILs want to be able to drop everything and rush there at a moment's notice. We're talking an hour's drive away. Meanwhile, we actually have an immediate need for our child and they don't want to help so they can be "on call" to go sit in the parking lot outside the hospital. ETA this is H's brother's wife, not his sister, so it's not even an issue of my ILs favoring a daughter over a son. They are just kind of neurotic like this.

    2) The daycare DD goes to is divided into an "infant" room and a "toddler" room. The "infant" room goes up to age 2 and the kids move up to the "toddler" room on their 2nd birthday. DD is turning 2 in 3 weeks and she is now the oldest kid in the "infant" room since her actual peers have moved up. I keep getting the vibe from her daycare teachers that they are tired of her and don't want to take the time to meet her needs because they would rather be with the little babies. I get it, the babies are cute/fun/easier than managing a toddler all day, but my kid has needs too. I can't wait till she can move up and be with kids who are more similar to her in terms of development and teachers who are there for that specific age group.
  • @soprano19 the “waiting” for labor is absurd! My SIL is pregnant and due 10/20. My brother “wasn’t allowed” to go to our Nana’s 90th birthday party 2 weeks ago because she’s pregnant. Ummm excuse me?!? She’s due in 2 months with zero complications or extra needs (other than GD but that’s her responsibility).

Also, that’s wild that your daycare keeps up to 2 year olds in the same room as babies. That’s such a different schedule!
  • @soprano19 Our daycare has a 0-18 months room and it feels like a way to charge the higher rate longer, to be honest. It wasn't so bad for DS because he's a November baby, so he was on the younger side when he moved. But DD was born in April and was one of the oldest kids in the room. I feel like she could have moved over earlier than 18 months.
  • @ruby696 is it not connected to your state ratios?
    DD #1: April 2017
    DD #2: May 2020
Baby #3: EDD May 2023; MC October 2022

  • @soprano19 you know that’s just what I want when I go into labor... expectant grandparents sitting in the parking lot waiting to hold the baby. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ Also the daycare thing seems odd to me too. I feel like infants to walkers. And then early walkers to 2ish.
  • @mdfarmchick I threatened my in-laws that they wouldn’t get a call until the baby was born if they planned to show up beforehand, even in the parking lot!
  • @mdfarmchick We didn't tell my in-laws I was in labor with DD or DS and it was SO nice just to have time together. My mom knew but she stayed away until we told her she could come. I plan to do the same thing this time.
  • @mamaqdubu @ruby696 that’s the bonus to living on the opposite side of the country from both of our families—no one is in town waiting impatiently. If things go less crazy this time then hopefully my mom will be staying with the boys. Lol.
  • @mokay19 @ruby696 @mdfarmchick I feel like it should be divided around age 1, so a 0-1 room and a 1-2 room. My ILs did end up picking up DD... I never heard from H whether he talked to them, so I called MIL to check and they had just picked her up. I vented for a few minutes about the whole daycare situation. :# Even she was like, "Yeah, DD is ready to move up."

Also, when I was in labor with DD, H texted our families once we were checked into the hospital and told them in no uncertain terms that we'd be happy to see them once the baby was born and we had moved to a recovery room. I delivered in the same city where all of our parents live, so no one was rushing to the hospital or sitting in the parking lot. But my mom completely ignored our request about waiting till we moved to recovery, and she walked into the delivery room about 30 seconds after they finished stitching me up. I wasn't very happy with her and we had a discussion about it several months later.
