Re: July Symptoms

  • I'm way more tired these days then I ever was in first trimester.  I hope it stops soon.
  • Loading the player...
  • Just general aches. Feeling fuller when I eat. Very aware of little one's presence in my body (forward fold is NOT so easy in yoga anymore). Sore nipples/breasts. Winded more easily. Also, we like to hike around the state park we have close by, and apparently my usual 6 mile, mostly flat trail that I've done countless times is too much and makes me swell by the end of it.

But otherwise, I'm actually feeling good. Not so exhausted anymore, grateful to be out of the nausea phase of the first trimester. I'll take these symptoms over that ANY day.
  • my lovely pre-pregnancy SI joint issue has decided to rear it's ugly little head. went and did a PT intake Friday, and head there this afternoon for an appt. trying to get a jump start on handling it before I really gain some weight and it gives me hell. outside of that... feeling great, no more nausea, more energy (@bookworm492 hopefully you'll see a shift soon!). I will second @rjgmcmanus that I can't seem to inhale food the way I used to - which I guess is a good thing?!
  • I am still nauseous and I'm so tired of it.  I just want to be able to eat a normal meal.
  • Nipples = burning. Breathless! I seriously can’t walk up the stairs and not be completely winded! Other than that I feel really great!
  • Just hit 18W yesterday (month 5, although I don’t get how the months are divided), and I’m definitely showing more (and gaining more weight) now.  During my first pregnancy, I also gained the most weight the fastest around this time, so we’ll see how it goes!  When I’m hungry, I eat, but I can’t eat too much without feeling super full.

I still don’t know what’s causing it, but at night, I’m still getting really itchy legs.  I suspect it’s allergies just elevated during this time, so possibly my gluten sensitivity is in high gear?

My energy for exercise has been pretty good, like @rjgmcmanus said, some yoga poses are requiring some adjustments, but not too crazy still!  I feel much better after exercise, so I don’t want to leave it out, even when I don’t feel great to start with.

Also, feeling movements by baby, mostly at night.  It’s starting to get real!
  • @ktmaesim I’m sorry your nausea is still so bad, I hope it improves soon!  I wish I could say that I’m completely over the sickness stuff, but it’s still coming and going for me, too.  I’ve stuck with really simple food for the most part just to eat something, anything, which I why I can’t figure out how I’m gaining weight so much right now.  I’m eating primarily apples and watermelon!  If this was normal body time, I probably would have dropped 5 lbs!!  Pregnancy is weird😛
  • @ktmaesim YES... I feel every bit of that. Nipples are fires of death and I am an avid runner, but send me up a set of stairs and I am puffing like a smoker trying to run down a hall.

  • 16W today. I’m also easily winded, although that happens some days and not others. It’s very odd. My food aversions seem to be gone (I can drink coffee again, thank God!), and only a twinge of nausea here and there. I’ve found my motion sickness is still pretty sensitive though. I finally have energy again, after being totally wiped out the whole first trimester.

I’ve also found exercise helps a lot, even if I’m pulled back from my normal intensity. I go to OrangeTheory and the different modifications have been great. It’s not easy to convince my brain to get there, but I always feel so much better the next day after I go!

Today I wore maternity pants to work for the first time. It feels very weird/real but they are definitely more comfortable.

I hope those of you who are still feeling nauseas/tired start feeling better soon!
  • @knottie86daf02cbb51a14c I'm glad to have coffee back in my life again, too! Haha... I missed my friend.

I'm feeling pretty good overall, but I'll have days when I could literally sleep all day. I was very busy last week - full time work then a thing every night for a few hours. By Friday, I could barely function. I slept for 3 hours after work and then didn't have any trouble going to sleep at bedtime!

I did have a great run/walk on Saturday. Sometimes I don't feel like running at all, but I ran about half of this. It felt great. I'm headed to the gym again tonight. I need to do some yoga but I'm having a tough time getting motivated.

  • I’m still nauseous. I notice it comes and goes now and I haven’t gotten sick once, but I almost wish I just could and feel better.

Energy seems to be up and I’m so motivated to tackle our sons nursery while I am on my summer break since I’m a teacher. I have all the time in the world right so I’m trying to make the most of it.

I have an appetite at least and no more food aversions. Just waiting for this nausea to go away!
  • I’ve had a non stop headache for days now. All I want to do is sleep to try and get rid of it 😩. Thankfully DH took DS to daycare this morning so I did get to relax an extra hour before getting out of bed.
  • I generally feel like crap.  Nauseous all the time, dizzy, lots of headaches. I am starting to get some energy back, but I get really winded easily (it doesn’t help I keep forgetting to use my inhaler.)
  • @ale9687 @holly321 the headaches are rubbish! I am getting them too (never have them when I am not pregnant). I am 14 weeks and still have mild nausea but so much better than the first trimester thank goodness. And still super tired but hoping that will pass soon. Starting up exercise again so hopefully that helps.
  • Stinky farts 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m also getting headaches, mostly toward the end of the day, likely stress. My appetite is slowly coming back. No nausea just very poor appetite. And I also feel like somehow the energy level dropped instead of increased coming into the second trimester... I don’t feel particularly bad, I just feel tired all the time.
  • I've been getting headaches too - so lame!

    My hips also really hurt.
  • Ughhhhh anyone dealing with congestion / allergies? Idk what to do I feel so stuffy the last two days !
  • @ktmaesim YES!! I did with DS too so I was waiting for it to happen. It is so much worse at night. Because of other health problems I can't take anything for it so I am no help.
  • @Peachie89 I don’t know if us pregnant ladies can really take anything, u checked my med sheet my doc gave me and NOTHINGG....I might just try to fall asleep to pass the time by I’m so over it lol

@ktmaesim I took flonase nasal spray when I had a sinus cold a month or so ago- my allergist said it is safe in pregnancy. Zyrtec is also okay to take in pregnancy.
  • @ktmaesim

My doc med sheet on things that are okay to take during pregnancy for allergies/colds:

    Benadryl
    Zyrtec
    Claritin (PLAIN)
Robitussin (Regular, Sugar Free or DM)
    Saline Nasal Spray
    Throat Lozenges (Sugar Free)
    Triaminic (Diabetic Cough Formula)
    Triaminic (Decongestant Cough Syrup)
Tylenol Cold Formula or Sinus Formua

Hope this helps! I did the nasal spray/Robitussin DM a few weeks ago when I had a cold, it seemed to do the trick.
  • thank you ladies you are all too kind! not sure why my doc doesn't have an allergy section on my meds list
  • This is insane..I think I’ve been getting Braxton Hicks. It’s been going on for about 2 weeks. I’ve read that in STM+ they can start earlier and be more noticeable. I’m bringing it up at my appt Tuesday but has anyone else had these yet?
  • @k_mama91 I've been doing a bit of research on dehydration in pregnancy due to the super hot weather, and sure enough, dehydration can cause uterine contractions.  I read that if you experience it, you should drink 2 large glasses of water and see if it helps.
  • @k_mama91 @blueskychicago12 I've noticed a couple as well this past week. Dehydration would make sense in my case as I know I haven't been drinking enough liquids no matter how hard I try.

I've been getting blisters and ulcers on my tongue lately and eating just about anything hurts. :(

  • I have been sneezy since the start and have runnier/stuffer nose than usual for sure.
  • @blueskychicago12 @ashorkey That may be my issue. I’m struggling to drink enough. Glad I’m not alone on either issue!
  • @ashorkey I have a blister in my mouth, too.  I didnt think much of it; can it be pregnancy related?

I have a little sore on the side of my tongue toward the back also. I thought it was just from eating a bunch of citrus fruit this week- mango, pineapple, oranges...

Also, I feel like this kid is having a growth spurt this week. All kinds of pulling, RLP and my bump is definitely getting more noticeable. Even my sister said something to me today...

@ashorkey @blueskychicago12 @cnd29 I have a pretty bad canker sore on my gum right behind a wisdom tooth. Going on day three, and it hurts to even swallow! No idea what caused it, but it's pretty big. Is there a link between mouth sores and pregnancy?
  • I had a massive mouth sore early on in this pregnancy....and I never get them! I’m assuming it’s linked to something
  • @ashorkey @blueskychicago12 @cnd29 @ninrms Seeing as we're all in the same boat I decided to actually look it up... it's a real pregnancy symptom. The few things that I read said it's one that isn't commonly talked about, but is a real thing from hormones and heredity.
  • ninrmsninrms member
@ashorkey Thank you for looking it up!! I hadn't heard of that anywhere!
  • Ugh, I have just enough of a cold or something that I’m getting post-nasal drip which is both a) triggering my gag reflex and making me puke and b) making me cough which then triggers my gag reflex and makes me puke.
Combine that all with some acid reflux (especially when lying down) and I’m having a hell of a time getting any sleep 😩
  • cnd29cnd29 member
@CapricaAndrea I have these things too. I tried to stop taking one Benadryl every night and the next day I puked from the drip making me gag while I brush my teeth. It helps so much and Dr said it’s ok. And when heartburn gets really bad I grab a Zantac also...
  • RLP is kicking my butt right now.  I can't find a comfortable position that doesn't make my round ligaments feel like they're pulling and sore.

Mamas who are feeling movement- Are your babies more active some days than others? I usually get movement here and there during the day and almost always when I’m laying on my left side but yesterday he was pretty quiet. I felt him a few times but not as much as usual. Talk me off a ledge, is this normal?!
  • @k_mama91 As the movement has become more normal, it’s becoming a little more consistent, but only in the last few days really.  I get it most regularly after dinner, before sleep in bed, and sometimes after snacks.  Sometimes I don’t notice her movements that much either.

I think we’re still normal and safe since it’s pretty early on.  Like in today’s article about movement, it talks about putting a remote on your belly and seeing it move.  That is definitely not happening for me yet!  These are small, low fluttering kicks, nothing extreme.
