Re: June Fitness / Healthy Habits

  • What are your workout routines looking like these days?

Walks, walks and more walks. Although DH “made me” run on one of our walks last week. I was very slow.

What’s a “small win” you have from last week?

Eh, not sure. I didn’t hit my Apple Watch move/exercise goal two days because I didn’t feel like going on a walk, lol. Lazy win?

    Goals for the weekend/next week?

Same as always - hitting my goals on my Apple Watch. And prolly trying not to eat everything in sight.

    Questions?

GTKY: Any workout/activity you’re looking forward to doing post-baby?

Mountain biking! Walking at regular fast speed! And maybe some golf, too. Although the golf might not be happening for many months after the birthing. I am itching to get back into golf shape. I was pretty terrible the last time I had a large break (aka PG/pp with DS).

  • What are your workout routines looking like these days?

    HIIT 1 or 2x/week; running 1 or 2x/week; walking 1 or 2x/week

What’s a “small win” you have from last week?

I was faster and stronger than my station mate at my HIIT workout.  She's not pregnant and looked relatively fit, so I internally gloated a little.  :)  But then she fell off a Bosu ball and sprained her ankle and I felt terrible.

    Goals for the weekend/next week?

Hoping to get in a family run (DH and I run, DS rides in the stroller yelling "Goooo!" "Goooo!" "Goooo!").

    Questions?

Anyone broke out the belly support band for running yet?  I think my last run was my last bandless run.  Dang it.  I made it a lot further into pregnancy without it last time.  It's just soooo sexy.

GTKY: Any workout/activity you’re looking forward to doing post-baby?

Running faster than 11 minute miles.  :)  Being able to do all of the workout moves at HIIT.

  • What are your workout routines looking like these days? No routine, just trying as hard as possible to make my step goal every day.  Stretching out really well at least once a day has helped tremendously with the back/rib pain, so aiming to keep that up too.  And I started doing some random sets of squats or lunges during the day, just for funsies.  Basically anything but give in to my desire to become one with my couch  ;)

What’s a “small win” you have from last week?  I'm not winning much when it comes to diet/exercise these days....

Goals for the weekend/next week? I guess just keep up what I'm doing and try not to buy the family-sized bag of Thai Sweet Chili Doritos to snack on at work again.

    Questions?

GTKY: Any workout/activity you’re looking forward to doing post-baby?  I have recently been literally daydreaming about running and eating really healthy.  It's almost sick, but I just miss my body feeling like it's capable of stuff like that and really can't wait to get back into it.  (Yes, I do realize the eating really healthy thing is totally within my limits right now, but let's face it... >:) )  I'm thinking of signing up for a half marathon for exactly (or as close as I can get to) one year after this LO is born.

@mamaber2204 I haven't been running, but I've been wearing the belly band for walking.  I can't imagine how you're feeling running without some support!  You're basically pregnant lady #fitnessgoalz these days!

@lillywonderland haha, lazy win!! As long as you don't give in to alllll the lazy wins, you're doing great  :D

  • @RedBreast35 Haha, thanks!  :)  I just know if I slow down I won't be able to do this stuff for the duration plus PP, so that keeps me moving!  Also LOL at the "again" part of the Doritos comment!  If it makes you feel better, I just went to Mad Greens (a salad joint) for lunch (win!) and added a toffee chocolate chip blondie to my order....whomp whomp whomp.  Hahahaha.

  • @lillywonderland I closed all my rings for the month of May but have missed 7 days so far this month.

@mamaber2204 I haven't worn a belly band yet.  My last run was last Wednesday and I still felt pretty good--slow but good.  What band do you use?

@redbreast35 A few weeks ago I found myself looking up local races.  Then had to remind myself that training for a 10K in the summer while pregnant might not be the best idea.  A half marathon one year PP sounds like a great goal.

What are your workout routines looking like these days? I've been doing Peloton cycling or their running workouts on their app  most days of the week.  I'm going to start prenatal yoga soon.  I also want to start light arm strength training workouts to make carrying around the baby easier.

What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I was able to get in 3 running workouts while on vacation last week.

Goals for the weekend/next week? Get back to regular workouts.  I've been pretty lazy since getting back from vacation on Monday.

GTKY: Any workout/activity you’re looking forward to doing post-baby? Ab exercises!

  • @sparkles5275 I'm not sure what brand it is.  I got it second hand from a friend.  It's that old standby ace-bandage-tan color and looks like the kind an old guy with back pain would wear, but it is designed for pregnancy.  Last time I busted it out in the final month.  This time I think things have just loosened up earlier.  My run on Wednesday felt uncomfortable in the lower belly area.
