Non pregnant? Going for a nice long run (when I'm in shape) But since I'm not usually in shape, sitting on the back deck with my feet up and a biiiig glass of wine. Pregnant? Finding a comfortable position that takes all pressure off my back and reading until I inevitably fall asleep
Ohh yes a nice glad of wine on my patio next to the fire pit when not pregnant. Otherwise a mocktail on the patio and bird watching when I’m pregnant. I’m also enjoying a little exercise, cooking, a hot bath, and rearranging my baby registry 500 times a day
Reading is #1 for me. I try to make it a point to read at least a few pages each night before bed. Also enjoy a nice bath with a bath bomb. When not pregnant, that is usually accompanied by a beer or glass of wine. When pregnant, I make the temp cooler (boooo) and have some tea.

@lillywonderland plus one here for cleaning helping me relax but it’s not the actual act of the cleaning that helps. It’s more so the result. Having clutter/mess makes me anxious
@RedBreast35 I take cash only for cleaning other people’s houses. 🤑
@nomangos23 For me it’s both - I like the result so much that I enjoy doing it!! Plus, usually I’ll listen to Disney songs waaaaay too loud and singalong. Mary Poppins’ “Spoonful of Sugar” is like literally the best song to clean to!! 😜
Also, I say reading but let’s be honest here - it’s been a solid 18mo since I’ve cracked open a book. I used to be the biggest bookworm but ain’t nobody got time for that now! Someday I’ll get back into it...
Reading is my go to. I read every night no matter what. If I'm stressed with things on my mind, then cleaning. I can think better while my hands are occupied.
I'm boring (basic? is that what the kids are still saying these days?). I like to watch reality TV - anything on HGTV or Bravo - with a glass of wine or whiskey. Pregnant: same thing, but ice cream or chocolate milk instead of the booze!
I'm gonna go real basic here and say a bath with a far-too-expensive Lush bath bomb, some candles, and music. But if I am too lazy to go through the trouble it's just hanging in my PJs watching food network.
I love a good bubble bath. I also enjoy puttering in the lawn. No real goal, just walking around doing little odds and ends. Usually with a rum and coke in hand.
My newest pregnancy one is staying in hotels. The hotel I'm in has an unreal amount of pillows (nice pillows), so I strategically placed them all around me so I could be propped up to sleep on my belly. It was glorious.
Pregnancy relax: laying in bed eating a chipwhich watching tv (aka falling asleep within 30 minutes of hitting the pillow)
Non pregnancy relaxing: Glass of wine eating dinner out at a nice restaurant on the water with my husband (we live in a beach area so many places are outside on water) or on our deck with the firepit on and a glass of wine (wine is a must!)
I used to get some great runs in when I was frustrated and needed to chill. Haven’t been in great running shape since DS though, unfortunately. Plan to get back into it after this little dude.
Now the most relaxing thing is just sitting on the couch with my phone and a dog in my lap.
Oh my @MsBeachNJ...first the shopping carts and now eating chipwhiches IN BED?!?!? All I can think of think of is all the crummies going everywhere. And this meme:
Walking down the beach looking for sea glass is when I am at my most zen. Also reading a book on a beach as long as I can alternate between a reclining beach chair and a big-enough beach blanket + pillow. ::stares longingly into the distance:: 2 DAYS 'TIL SUMMER BREAK.
@MsBeachNJ is a chipwich a sandwich with chips on it to make it exxxtra crunchy? Because that really is the only way to eat sandwiches.
Jelly at all the ladies who get to unwind near the beach! Sea glass hunting? Be still my heart
@kgg2241 that was me last week. And actually, I book the double queen room instead of the king because then there’s EXTRA pillows from the other bed!!! Hope Portland is treating you well!
Swimming has been my outlet. There’s something about submerging my head under water that just feels so damned good right now. Before I was pregnant, I was all about the hot baths, so apparently water is my relaxing place. Lakes and oceans are amazing, too.
@nomangos23 omg, you’ve never had a Chipwich?! It’s an ice cream sandwich with chocolate chips rolled around the visible ice cream on the edges. SO GOOD.
@nomangos23@kiddiesandkitties it took me a minute to realize that a Chipwich isn't a sandwich with chips in it, but I agree, @nomangos23, chips in a sandwich to make it crunchy is sooooo goooood! (The ice cream version is dang good too!! )
I think it depends on the time of day for me. Or what type
of day I’ve had. Or the season. lol
In the winter:
If I’ve had a long day at work (or it’s extremely cold and I’m
suffering from SAD) I like to take a nice hot shower. I’m not a bath person but
I love water. The shower is perfect and has made a huge impact on my SAD.
I love to plan hypothetical vacations lol. My Instagram is
not filled with pictures form people I know but instead there are pictures from
places all over the world (I know, I’m not Instagraming right lol).
In the summer:
I love waking up and going out on my deck with a cup of
coffee and reading a book. The air is still a little cool but the sun is out
and starting to warm things up. I love it. So relaxing.
I can only sit around the house for so long before I start
to get a headache. Which makes me more of an active person. I love being out in
nature. Going for a hike, biking, kayaking… etc. There’s nothing better than
kayaking a small river in the summer with a beer in hand. I love it when it’s
so hot it feels good to get splashed by the water. And you go around a corner
and you enter a gorge… fresh springs are dripping through the rocks... oh so peaceful!

@lillywonderland I'm not a monster! I use a plate!!! No crumbs in bed!
@nomangos23 chipwhiches as in the ice cream treat of ice cream wedged between two cookies and rolled in mini chocolate chips They have been my "treat yo self!" this pregnancy - SOOOO GOOD!
@MsBeachNJ and @nomangos23 I'd never encountered a chipwhich either but now I want to try one! Makes a lot more sense eating that in bed than the sandwich stacked with chips I was initially imagining
Mine is reading (and lately playing Stardew Valley if I'm suuuuuper tired). I used to like going for walks in the evening or at night in good weather and look at the stars/just enjoy being outside, but can't really where we are now. And it used to also be baking, but now I always get DS involved with that and it's not relaxing anymore, haha (kind of fun in its own way, but not relaxing and I always end up on a scavenger hunt for all the unused measuring cups I let him play with).
I like to go for a drive and listen to music to relax. Also I now need to see if anywhere near me sells chipwiches Cause they sounds/look good ( I may have googled them to see what they were)
