  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 30/3 AL

    WTO/TWW? Tww

Ages of other child(ren)? Almost 4

Any thoughts about this cycle? First clomid cycle so trying not to get my hopes up. The progesterone makes things too perfect and ss easy.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave/Brag: Ds’ birthday is coming up and I’m trying to figure out what to get him. I’m considering an outdoor play set but the thought of spending that much money makes me cringe. DH of course has no issue with it. They are so expensive though.

GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? I’d tell her that what seems important now really isn’t and in 10 years life will be infinitely better.

    Month/Cycle? 6

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 17 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not too hopeful  since I’m out of town at a conference during normal O time (CD14-16) but we should have gotten in at least 1 HIO in FW and that’s all it takes right?

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave/Brag: This is my longest time away from DD and I miss her so much (we’ve been gone since Friday but DH flew home late last night). Wednesday can’t get here soon enough.

GTKY: I would tell myself that it might take a little while but eventually you will find your place in life and everything works out better than you can even imagine! And don’t stop exercising!

  • bows22bows22 member
@kbrown2385 I hate spending a lot of money on one thing too. But I bet your DS would love a play set and I’m sure he would use it for several years!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Timing wasn’t good, but I’m ready to move onto the next cycle.
    Any questions?
Rant/Rave/Brag: Derby’s over, ILs are gone, and I’m ready to get back into our normal routine
GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? Hard work pays off, what matters now will more than likely not matter within a few years, and student loans are the devil.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m currently WFAF although I had high hopes but we will find out shortly.
    Any questions?
Rant/Rave/Brag: bells went a whole weekend without accidents! Now we are going to London Saturday and going to have to put her in pull-ups for the flight and probably sightseeing and really hope we do not go backwards. I think I will keep her underwear on under the pull up so she gets the point. I know it’s bad timing but we travel a lot so it would always be something. Any tips much appreciated.
GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? Stop worrying what people think about you!

@kbrown2385 have you thought about finding a pre-used set?

@bows22 I hate traveling without Bells which is why I took my current job and why I’m taking her (and DH) on this work trip! But obviously we can’t do it every time. It’s easier now that we aren’t breastfeeding, pumping on the plane is tough.

@MrsVP614 I could use the what matters now won’t matter in five years advice even now!!! Easier to know than to live by unfortunately.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I am on CD 17 and my cervix is waaaaay up there and open. But no EWCM yet. My FMU OPK's were negative and so was my clearblue OPK, it wasn't even "high." My husband leaves back to the UK for work tomorrow and my DD & I return at the end of the month. We haven't been able to DTD because we are sharing a room with DD and the room is next to my parents room (we are visiting them in Florida). Ughhhhh. Might try to corner him in the shower today or tomorrow before he goes.
    Any questions? No
Rant/Rave/Brag: DD had a blast this weekend with my MIL while my H & I were at our friend's wedding. She went to a farm and got to pet alllll the animals & rode a pony.
GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? OMG. I wish I wasn't so boy crazy. I did well in school but I had boys on the mind all the time and I cared way more about my BF. Wish I could have let that sh*t go and focus on school even more.

WTO/TWW? I’m gonna go with WFAF. Cycle looks anovulatory.

Ages of other child(ren)? 1 and a half.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Just waiting to start Clomid next cycle. I’ll start Provera next week and Clomid CD5 next cycle.

    Any questions? No

Rant/Rave/Brag: DS is learning so much. This weekend he pointed to his elbow and said elbow. I was so proud. I can’t belueve how fast they learn.

GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? This is probably a lot to learn about me, but I would tell myself not to marry my high school boyfriend. That was a disaster of an abusive marriage that never should have happened.

@leksiL we did consider bringing DD on this trip, but decided that she probably wouldn’t have fun in New Orleans!  It was really nice to hang out just the 2 of us again and just really be able to let loose. I was just sad to say goodbye to DH, both because we had such a good time and also because he is going to have DD all to himself for the next few days haha. No advice on the potty training but there was a little boy in front of us on the flight here that asked to go to the potty. There was some turbulence going on so the mom looked around as though considering taking him but ended up telling him to pee in his diaper “just this once.” I felt bad because I’m sure it pained her to say that but I’m also sure she was glad to not have to stumble to the bathroom

@nolemama24 the shower sex sounds like a good idea! Good luck!

@mercury94 every time DD does something new I’m so shocked and proud. I wonder if that ever gets old? Regarding your GTKY I’m so sorry that happened to you but I’m glad you were able to get out of that relationship.

Any thoughts about this cycle?  It's probably a bust.

    Any questions?  Nah

Rant/Rave/Brag: I feel like a broken record on Mondays.  Nothing that I haven't said in other threads already.  It's finally nice and sunny out today and I already hit 10k steps between my morning walk and a quick lap I just did before lunch.

GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self?  I got bullied a lot in middle-high school, even though I have always been super tall.  I kind of wish I could go back and tell myself just to punch one of the mean kids just once so they'd leave me a lone.  But who knows... maybe that would have changed me and I wouldn't have turned out to be as nice of a person.

  • @kbrown2385 We decided to get DS a swing set for Christmas and just haven't shown it to him yet.  We figured he's young enough now to not realize he didn't get too much for Christmas because of it.  I found an amazing Rollback deal on a KidKraft set at Walmart.  There are some good deals on Wayfair sometimes!

@bows22 That first time away is so hard!  It makes coming home at the end of a trip that much sweeter, though!

@MrsVP614 Oh man, the things I thought were big deals back in high school!!!

@leksiL My son never seemed to notice a difference when we put him in Pull-Ups.  I got ones with Thomas the Train on them, and we call them his "Thomas underwear" and tell him to make sure he keeps Thomas dry and still goes pee on the potty.  He keeps them dry most of the time, and it's nice to not have to worry as much when we're travelling or out for long days with limited bathroom options.

@nolemama24 FX you can sneak one in with YH!

@mercury94 I'm so sorry about your first husband.  I'm glad you got out!

  • @shamrocandroll if it’s the wooden kidcraft that’s the one we’ve been looking at! It’s $100 off right now so it’s within our budget but I hate spending money lol

@leksiL I’ve beem looking for a used one but haven’t found anything good in our area. Most look like they are in terrible condition and the others are the price of a new one.

I'm finally feeling in a better place emotionally since last week's CP. I'm in the mind set now that it's not what my body did "wrong", but instead, it's what my body did "right". And quickly too. I have to remember to trust my body and to trust the journey. Looking forward to trying this cycle.
Any questions? Yes! How do you not let the TTC process consume you and take you away from your child or children? I find it hard to sometimes stay present with my DS because I'm wrapped up in TTC #2 and I really, really don't want to miss out on the time with him because as we know, it passes way too quickly!

Rant/Rave/Brag: I'm heading into NYC this afternoon and I look forward to wandering around Central Park. I miss the park in the spring! Can't wait to enjoy it today

  • @bows22 I travel a bit for work too and I hate nothing more than leaving my DS behind. I miss him terribly when I'm away! BUT, I definitely think it helps me be a better and more present mom when I've had a little time away. I guess it's truly a catch-22.

@leksiL Have a wonderful time in London! I'm heading over there in a few weeks. One of my favorite cities!

  • @puppylove8910 I've started trying to put my phone down and making a point to spend a good half hour sitting on the floor with him and playing 1:1 after work, before the cooking dinner, eating, and bedtime chaos begins.  In general, I'm trying to make it a point to be more present for him because I know I'm going to blink and he'll be grown up.  It's so hard though because I over-analyze everything and it's so hard to turn off.

  • @kbrown2385 I also want to get DS a play set, but he’s so young and they are so $$$. Probably going to get a small swing set with a slide (which is his favorite) or a bounce house slide combo.

@bows22 Sorry about the bad timing of the conference and that you are stuck away from your DD. That kept happening to us last time we were TTC. Never in the same place at the right time.

@MrsVP614 Yay for normal again. Sorry about the poor timing this cycle.

@leksiL Sounds like you’re having good success with potty training. Have a great trip.

@puppylove8910 I’m so sorry about the loss. I’ll admit, I’m having some trouble staying focused on anything other that TTC#2. DH basically scolded me this weekend for being in such a big funk about this struggle and that has helped pull me out of it. I’m just trying so hard to work on my self control so I can focus on DS when I’m with him and on TTC when I’m not. Like @shamrocandroll said, I’m also trying really hard to stay off my phone when DS is around.

@shamrocandroll I wish I would have stood up for myself more too. I hope that I can teach DD to do that (or at least not care as much what other kids say)

@puppylove8910 we have started taking family walks between dinner and bedtime. Even though it’s only 30 minutes I usually don’t think about TTC during that time and instead just appreciate our little family for how it is right now. DD has started reaching up from her stroller to hold my hand during the walks and it is the sweetest thing. I’m glad you took some time to grieve but I love your mindset now❤️

  • OH!  I forgot to mention that DS is sleeping in a toddler bed now!  We switched him over on Saturday and then I went out to dinner and drinks with my sister and left MH to do bedtime solo (lol), fully expecting he'd still be awake when I got home later.  It wasn't a big deal at all and he fell asleep within a normal amount of time, and didn't wake up freaked out at any point!  I feel so relieved!

Any thoughts about this cycle? DH is getting slammed at work this week and it's my FW. Fx that there's not a lot of after hours work this week. This may not be the best timed cycle, but we're going to try!

Any questions? I thought of one earlier, but I'm drawing a blank. If I think of it I'll post it later.

Rant/Rave/Brag: I'm looking forward to Mother's day. DH makes really good fried chicken (Jamie Oliver's recipe). I'll make death by chocolate trifle (chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, skor chips) the day before since that's my MIL's favorite.

GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? The boys in your life right now aren't worth the drama or worry. You'll meet someone even better. (I was so boy crazy in high school.)
  • bows22bows22 member
@spacemountaineer that trifle sounds so amazing! Between that and the milkshake post I think you are trying to kill me haha

@shamrocandroll ugh I know, so sweet! I think they have to be extra sweet sometimes to make up for when they are evil haha. That’s so great that the toddler bed transition went so well. I’m always terrified of anything that changes the bedtime/sleep routine

Any thoughts about this cycle? Trying to not get my hopes up since it’s our first cycle officially trying again. I see my obgyn for my annual appointment Wednesday so hoping to talk about my cycle lengths and get some answers there.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave/Brag: We’ve been waiting on our contractor to get back to us with a contract for residing our house and it finally all got finalized today! I’m so excited! We really need to get this all finished before we can figure out our budget for DH’s new truck. His current one only has a tiny back seat that won’t fit car seats so I get nervous when I leave with my car and leave him with DS and no way to transport him.

@varimama glad you are making progress with your house project! I think you can use a car seat in the front seat of a truck if the airbag is turned off. The Facebook group “car seats for the littles” could tell you for sure. Even if just in the case of an emergency.

@MrsJessS are you stocked up on wondfos for when you start convincing yourself you *could* be 9 DPO? ETA because that’s what I would have to do haha

Are you guys doing anything for mother’s day gifts for your moms/MILs from your kids? We want to do something from DD versus us (they like her better anyway :D) but drawing blanks since it’s last minute.
  • @bows22 I wasn’t on my game this year and just resorted to flowers from all of us. I’ll try better next year lol
  • bows22bows22 member
@kbrown2385 this is my backup plan as well!
  • @bows22 oh I just remembered! Two years ago I painted mason jars gray and had ds put his thumb prints all over it in yellow and his other fingers in white to form flowers. He helped me pick out small bouquets of fake flowers to put in and gave them to each grandma. They both loved it so much they cried. Thats a quick easy option.
  • Similar to this but I used his fingers to form the flowers

  • @bows22 I had my son make handprint flowers for his grandma and great grandma last year but idk if I’m doing anything this year bc I decided I want to spend the day home with him. DH got his mom a gift card to her favorite greenhouse (same gift he does every year).

I should probably mail my mom a card. We aren’t on great terms and I had gotten a gift and planned on giving it to her last weekend but I forgot it and idk that it’s worth shipping. I won’t do anything from Rid to her because he doesn’t really know who they are. Saturday was his first time seeing them since he was 6mo old.

@kbrown2385 that is such a cute idea! We have been told by daycare that DD doesn’t like to get paint on her fingers but it may be worth a shot
  • @kbrown2385 I love that idea! Last year we sent both our moms a canvas with our recent pro pic of DS.
We're behind this year and just sent MIL a card and I ordered a Kendra Scott bracelet for my mom with DS's birthstone.

  • I have a hilarious confession. We're supposed to be logging the puppy's potty breaks to try to figure out if she has a pattern or routine so we can prevent accidents. So, since we already have the Baby Connect app that syncs between mine and MH's phones........

I'm late to the party, I just felt off the last few days and felt like I had nothing to contribute.

What number are you trying for?  2
    Month/Cycle?  2/2
    WTO/TWW? 12
    Ages of other child(ren)? 2.5
Any thoughts about this cycle? not really.
    Any questions? nope
Rant/Rave/Brag: I'm just done with this week and weekend (before it even starts). Can I take a vacation alone?
GTKY: What words of wisdom would you pass on to your high school self? To enjoy it more.

@kbrown2385 I think you should go for the play set! We have one that came with our house. It is useful for when I don't have time to get to the park. We are going to tear ours down and get a new one though, it is pretty old. I do suggest putting a rectangular wood chipped area around it. Mowing around that thing sucks.

@bows22 I hope you had a great reunion with DD. I have no clue what I'm doing for gifts for my mom/MIL, probably just flowers from all of us, maybe make a card.

@leksil No tips but good luck, I hope there are very few accidents!

@nolemama24 I hope you were able to DTD before he left!

@mercury94 I swear between 18 months to 2.5 years they learn so much! DD is 2.5 and I am still amazed every day at the new things she learns.

@shamrocandroll How is DS liking the toddler bed? We took off the front rail on DD's crib at the beginning of the year. Now we just bought a twin bedroom set off of FB for DD big girl room. I'm nervous for that transition, but luckily it will be a while before we switch yet. That is funny about your puppy tracker... whatever works!

  • @m6agua So his toddler bed is actually just his crib converted to a toddler bed with a little half rail.  The mattress and the rest of the frame is still the same, so I think that helped.  We're moving him into a bigger room in the summer/fall time frame, and he'll get a new bedroom set then, so I felt like doing it in smaller steps before making the huge leap to a twin bed.  Every time I get anxious about a major sleep change, he seems to handle it no problem, so I guess I just need to learn to chill.

  • I am a little bitter but seriously?!? I cornered my H to DTD while baby was playing with my parents downstairs and he couldn't do it. Now he is gone. Goodbye cycle! What a waste. Why is it that I have to freak out about my cycle, track every parameter and pee on all the things, take all the vitamins, try not to stress, try to make it fun, try ALL THE DAMN THINGS and all I need my H to do is SHOW UP but he can't when I really need it. This is salty me talking. It frustrates me. Seriously though, how do I have this convo with him without making him feel bad? Not trying to break any egos here. UGH! #saltyAF
