I’m not, but DH is with his work uniform. If it helps him feel safe in the event of a fire, I’m cool with him being as superstitious as he wants.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
MH is with what he wears during a tournament/making sure he wears the same thing for each game. I do get a little too in to a routine (like TTC), and sometimes feel like if I deviate from a routine (like not taking a vitamin one day while TTC), something bad may happen or I may not get a result I want... which I guess is superstitious?
Can I say yes and no at the same time? I don't believe any of it is real, but I do participate in some superstitions like knocking on wood. The one that comes to mind in particular is from college when the Red Sox were down 3 games to 0 in the playoffs, and my roommates and I got a Red Sox themed cake from the grocery store on clearance. That night, we ate the whole cake and they won, so we went out to buy another cake, but there weren't any, so we had to buy a plain round cake and decorate it like a baseball with a red B on it ourselves. We then ate that whole cake and all of the red icing, just to be safe. They won again. Repeat for 4 straight games that series and then another 4 for the World Series. And yes, you're remembering correctly if you recall me saying in FFFC that I don't like cake.

@NYTino24 MH doesn't have any with his uniform but every fire he has found a penny at has had no injuries or fatalities. It makes me want to go to every scene and throw a bunch of pennies around!
I do the normal things like not walking under a ladder and knocking on wood. When I was younger and played sports I had all the weird ones like eating a certain thing and putting my socks and shin guards on in the same order.

@lcking82 I did that with wearing team apparel during football season. Games they won in the preseason were days we didn't wear stuff so we were like, well now we're not going to wear any of that on Sundays.

I want to say no, but I don't like handing people the salt shaker directly. I must put it on the table and then the other person must grab it. Also, the other day I was walking to the co-op and I saw a black cat, and I sped up my pace! I felt so dumb. Why did I do that? Cats are everywhere in England, haha!

I only clap in threes. If I deviate, the clap does not "count." This means I am often the last person clapping because I have to get to something divisible by three. Also, during football season, I wear green underwear on Sundays. I am sure there are more, but these two come to mind!
@chichiphin Because of your thing about the vitamins, I remembered to take my lunch vitamins! I too often forget when I am at school. I am so much better with one-a-days haha.
@shamrocandroll lol that Red Sox story is nuts. I was in college in Boston during the season where they reversed the curse! I went to Emerson--did you go to college in Boston or just somewhere in the Northeast?
@lcking82 I'm right there with you on the sports things like that--I have this hoodie I haven't washed in way too long because of the power of the hoodie--my cousin and bro will still text me sometimes during like crucial moments in the game and be like "you had better have your hood up!" because one time I had put my hood up on my hoodie and something good happened and the birds wound up winning.
I don't think this is superstitious as it is just habit but I do things in threes. DH knows he has to give me three kisses at a time or anything divisible by three. It just doesn't feel complete lol. Which is why I'm deliriously hopeful for this cycle since it's my 9th cycle.
@kagesstarshroom I went to Northeastern, so I was right in the thick of all the action! What an amazing few years to live in Boston! I have been a Red Sox fan my whole life, so 2004 was the most amazing thing to experience for me! I did not do fantastic on my midterms that semester, though.

@kagesstarshroom Also reminded me of another one. I like the volume on the TV and my car radio to be divisible by 5. So it either has to be level 20 or level 25 on the TV. Sometimes I have to get over it though because there can be a big difference between the two. In my car, it's usually between 10 and 15, but I won't do 13. SO a combination of superstition and probably some mild obsessive compulsive tendencies...

@shamrocandroll I sorta have the same quirk....I like even numbers and so does MH which is kind of funny when I am making something to eat and there is an odd number so I always try to trick him into having it since I make our plates.
OH! I totally forgot another one. When I'm watching hockey I need to wear my one Pens hoodie and I HAVE to spill nacho cheese on it. I messed up real bad this season and didn't get nachos. SORRY PENS
@brookert615 & I'm 3AL! So by the power of 3s, I am hoping for us so so hard! My BFF bought me a book on numerology and astrology, and I'm excited to get to the numerology part bc I don't know much about it. My birthday is the 26th, though, which is divisible by 13, and I think bc I like 3s I somehow like 13 because it has a three in it? Even though it's not divisible? Won't clap a 13 though--gotta be a 12 or 15...
@shamrocandroll Ooo nice! I had a friend that lived over by Nwestern & my cousin went there briefly! I lived with some kids from BU & MassArt & we used to throw these rad parties & I loved when there'd be people from like all the different colleges in our house & I'd be like, w/out knowing ppl "those are the BU kids... those are the Emerson kids... those are the Tufts kids...." You could just tell! My Harvard friends from hs never showed. They missed some baller parties tho-- Anyway, I'm a Philly sports fan thru & thru but I *DO* root for the Sox when they're up for something big! Never never never never never, tho, the NE football team whose name shall not be mentioned-- When I moved to Philly, I liked to say I hated the Yankees before anyone in PHL did haha. I like my car volume to be at a divisible by 5 too, but I don't hold fast to that one, I just... like when it's possible.
@brookert615 My numerology "life path" number is 6--I prefer odd numbers, but I like that it's divisible by three! I like how you are 6/15--two #s divisible by 3! Here's a site where you can calculate your "life path" #. I still have to read more about what the life path # means in the book (though this site gives a brief explanation!)
Mine says, “You may have found that your life sways from one intense situation to another. Although this can be draining at times, know that it provides you with a greater depth of experiences so you can grow faster. You are considered the "Wounded Healer", someone who helps themselves by helping others.
Some of the careers that are best suited for Life Path 11’s all include positions where they are listening and working to improve a person’s life. For example: Minister, Psychologist, Teacher and Charity Worker.”
Psychology major - check. Teacher - check.
