Are Antibiotics During Pregnancy Safe?

I was just prescribed Augmentin for a back abscess, and I’m so nervous as to weather or not I should take them. I informed the doctors on staff that I was pregnant ( 7 weeks, 5 days) they assured me it was safe. I’m a worrier. 
Any other mommies to be prescribed augmentin??

They wouldn't prescribe it, if it wasn't safe.
Trust your doctor.
Talk to the pharmacist when you pick it up.
Many women have to be on antibiotics for many reasons during pregnancy, its safer than infection spreading and causing more issues!

I'd think if your doc prescribed it knowing you're pregnant that it's safe.  Like @harpseal135 said double check with the pharmacist for reassurance.
