Each doctor is different. Give yours a call and tell them how far along you are based on LMP and they’ll schedule you for when they want to see you.
Yup, this. I've always called within a day or two of getting a positive, and they scheduled it for later on. With my first, it was around 8 weeks. With my second, it would have been the same except I had extenuating circumstances and didn't have a first appointment until around 18 weeks, but that's unusual.
You typically wouldn't go in and/or the doctor or midwife wouldn't want to set an appointment immediately after a BFP unless there's a reason for concern. A first appointment is typically somewhere around eight weeks.
I know about the appt at 8 weeks. My question was more about whether I should wait to make the actual appt now or later in the event my period comes. Though I hope it doesn't!
Some doctors will want to run their own urine sample or blood test. Depends on your doctor. And depending on how busy they get and how flexible your schedule is, you might have a hard time getting an appointment set if you wait too long.
