Had an appointment this past Thursday to check the HB and my cervix. I’ve had previous issues with my cervix so OB is constantly checking (joy). Baby’s heart was pounding away and my cervix is normal! Next appointment is anatomy scan on 9/27!
Had my "nurse counseling" appointment yesterday. They said they usually do it as an initial appt at 7-8 weeks but since I'm new to the practice even though I've had prenatal appts already at the old practice AND I have a regular OB appt on Monday they still made me do it. It was pretty much as useless for a STM as I suspected. Asked me tons of questions about personal and family medical history (even though 99% of it was already on the records that were faxed over), and basically laid down all of the pregnancy "rules" and what tests were coming up. (You called it @kayjay44 ) Like, you know that this is not my first rodeo, lady. But it's probably a CYA thing.
She put in for my anatomy scan, which is now scheduled for October 2. Happy anniversary present to me and DH! I will be 19w6d. HOWEVER, she just put in for a level I, and my previous provider had mentioned a level II because of a medication I was on. I had a level II with DD because of that med, but I actually weaned off of it at week 5 this time around, and my previous provider still wanted a level II, so we'll see what this OB says on Monday and if I have to reschedule.
Looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again on Monday! Hoping I will like these new providers.
15w check up yesterday. HB was 155 and always the sweetest thing to hear. Because of my chub, we couldn’t pick it up on the Doppler (happened with my other two pregnancies but I’m over 100 lbs lighter and assumed it would be easier... wrong. Ha) so that made me panic for a moment. God bless portable ultrasound machines!
Got my order for my Quad Screening bloodwork (3 weeks from now). A/S was already set for middle of October (I’ll be 20w exactly).
@ChloandCoco - I like the idea of monthly. Good call.
We had our anatomy scan on Tuesday last week! Everything looks good as far as I know and still team green! HB was 138 and said fluid levels look good! Baby weighed in at 10 oz!
20 week appt next week. I’m sure it will be nothing crazy just a HB check and the usual getting scolded for gaining too much weight
Anatomy scan and next appointment this Thursday. My boys are so excited to see the baby! Made arrangements with our local bakery to get the gender reveal cupcakes made after our scan. I let the boys decide how we would find out and if course they chose food!
Monthly check on Monday. Nice thing is if they can’t get her on Doppler they’ll grab a portable ultrasound machine. Either way I get to hear or see her. I have my A/S on the 29th which is awesome because it’s a Saturday so H and DD get to join me.
Anatomy scan and appointment on Thursday! Can’t wait to see this feisty little babe again. I think I’ll be 18w6d, but the nurse who scheduled it said I’d be 21 weeks soooo that’s fine too I guess lol
I have my gender reveal scan Monday. It is an elective scan where they will just look at the gender, in 5D!. Not medical but exciting anyway because there was a special I could actually afford. It will be in 5D with a video recording, color print out and access to all the black and white photos digitally as well. We also opted to purchase a "heartbeat buddy". It is a stuff animal that will have a recording of the kids heartbeat. So excited.
Then Thursday normal OB appointment. Seems less exciting than the scan coming up though
I have to have ultrasounds and see one of my OBs (I have two) every two weeks, so I go this week and then have my anatomy scan and another ob appt at the end of the month. So much scheduling.
Normal appointment today 147 hb and he kept kicking the doppler. We started talking about monitoring plans once I hit 35 weeks. Both of my other kiddos tried to come at 35 and 36 (1st was born at 36+4 2nd the morning of 37) so the plan is to check size, positioning, and fluids starting at 35 weeks and plan for baby to come at 37. It felt really good to create a plan with my OB.
Our RainbowBaby H arrived at 37 weeks on 12/20/16!
Baby E arrived at 37 weeks on 01/31/15!

@madreofdragons if you want i can start scheduling same day same practice as you and I can guarantee you'll be seen before me. Without fail. I'm used to waiting and being last as my maiden name started with Z, 24 years of that doesn't just disappear even though I moved up in the alphabet ha
We have our monthly appointmnent on the 21st, I imagine we'll set up our AS after that, I'll be 19wk 3 days so hopefully sooner rather than later.
@ksdelong20 my maiden name was the last of the Ws, my married name is V -_- The struggle is real. I feel you.
And fwiw, the worst of it was all during school. Preschool through college. AWFUL. Now that I'm not in school it's not as often of an issue, thankfully.
Yesterday was a regular check-up but it took FOREVER waiting. Poor DD got antsy and when the doctor finally came in, I was distracted and couldn't wrangle her quick enough and she pinched her finger badly in the stirrups
Needless to say I made sure DH is coming to the next one.
Got to hear the heartbeat, which was the main goal. Anxiety temporarily assuaged.
Just had my appointment and got to hear a heartbeat! 150 bpm, and he found it right away! So relieved! I’ll call tomorrow and schedule my AS, most likely it’ll be the the first week of October since they want it to be at pretty much exactly 20 weeks. Not long now!
Had my OB appointment today and he told me that on the u/s they noticed that the umbilical cord is offset, so I will need to go for a growth scan around 30-32 weeks to make sure the baby is growing properly. My OB didn’t seem concerned, and there’s nothing that can be done about it now.
@ChloandCoco If your doc doesn’t seem concerned I wouldn’t worry either. Even though I know it’s hard not to worry, it’s in our nature to worry if the doc so much as coughs in a weird way.
At least this means you’ll get to see your baby again before birth! I bet everything is fine!
@ChloandCoco thinking about you, I know how even things your doctor “isn’t concerned about” can still be concerning for you. Hugs. Fingers crossed that your next scan comes back looking a-ok!
Had a regular OB appt on Tuesday. HB was good and I’m measuring about a week ahead, which makes sense with how big I’m feeling. I’m also anemic, which I trend toward even when not pregnant, but my levels aren’t improving even with increased iron intake. Anybody else ever had a similar issue? Do they do iron infusions during pregnancy?
I have my anatomy scan and then an OB appointment this morning! It feels like my 12w scan was a lifetime ago. I want to know that everything is fine, placenta is in a good spot and that my weight and blood pressure are ok.
@Venessa88 great! I got the time wrong for my AS apparently but we got that sorted out. My OB appointment was all of a couple minutes long but he answered my questions - about weight and low blood pressure - and seems to think everything is fiiiiine.
The AS was fun. Baby was super wiggly and stubborn. We almost didn't get the head pictures because it was head down in my pelvis. But measured perfectly on track and my placenta is in a good place. I'm thrilled!
Mw appt yesterday (20weeks) heartbeat was all good, and my stomach is measuring on track. Could hear baby moving around lots through the doppler .
I have at U/s early October at the high risk unit to have a look at the placenta (placenta previa over here), and will have another one scheduled around 28 weeks. Otherwise, all is good!
Have to book a dr appt for DTAP? shot around 27-30 weeks, apparently a newer recommendation within the last couple of years. Yay, love needles...
